PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> ' IA Hi E TOWN MALL <br /> MEETING OF APRIL 2 , 1984 <br /> The fo1.1cwing members of the Per.sone -1 Board were in attendance for <br /> tonight ' s meeting : Chal rman Robert~ Sullivan , Caroline Gilligan , <br /> Manuel. Glickman and Carrie Saunders , <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 6 : 00 P .M . <br /> The Board reviewed at length the Town Accountant ' s memo of March <br /> with reference to the Assistant Town' Accountant ' s position being <br /> eliminated frcm the clerical unit along with a recommendation for <br /> the position to be slotted into the P .A . P . at Grade 16 , Step 1 , based <br /> on a ' 35 hour work week . The Board also reviewed a memo from the <br /> Executive Secretary dated March 29 recommending that the Assistant <br /> Accountant be placed at Grade 17 , Step 1 .on a 35 hour work week . <br /> Upon review of the comparisons of salaries for Assistant Town' <br /> w.n. Ac- <br /> countant ' insurrounding towns and upon review of the most recent <br /> clerical. co.ntr-act, the Persohnel. Board recorrmend� ,,...' that theAssis- <br /> tant Town Accountant position be slotted into Grade 16 , Step 1 , based <br /> on a 35 hour work week with retro-active cost of living of 5 . 5% back <br /> to 7/1/83 . This upgrade would realize a little over a % increase of <br /> the current salary being paid for the position . <br /> Mid-Cape Medical Center <br /> Mrs . Doris J. Dore , Supervising Furse of Mid-Cape Medical. Walk-In <br /> Center met with the Bc r to 'discuss annual employee physicals fcr <br /> Mashpee ' s Fire , Police and Highway Departments . <br /> Mrs . Dore explained 'that chest -rays and el_et;r.cca 'diogrars are not <br /> necessary tests on an ;annual basAs , but certainly could be done ini- <br /> tially on police and firefighters'. She mentioned that Barnstable <br /> handles it this way, �. <br /> Discussion continued with reference to the form to be used which indi- <br /> cates the type of information ion the town requires . Mrs . Dore suggested <br /> that a .back check be included on the form. c.om.m.e.nting that it was es- <br /> pecially important for positions .requiring a lot of lifting . All_ were <br /> in agreement that once the forms were filled out , they Wculd be re- <br /> tuned to the Personnel Office . <br /> Bates for the office visits were set for the 1984 ' fiscal year and will_ <br /> remain in. effect through June 30 , x.985 to be renegotiated in Januar.y <br /> of 1985 . The Mid-Cape ill give_ Mashpee a % discount off the top for <br /> a guarantee of 50 employees or more . They have also agreed tc accommo- <br /> date our employees in setting up the appcintments for their physicals <br /> indicating that Saturday and Sunday visits were available . A follow-up <br /> letter will be submitted from Mid-Cape with a breakdown of terms agreed <br /> upon . <br /> The Personnel_ Board inquired s to whether the 0 discount could be <br /> given to other town workers for physicals . Mrs . Bore indicated that <br /> Mid-Cape would not offer the discou.nt to other workers . The Board <br /> also inquired as to - whether Mid- Cape has a psychologist on premise { <br /> which they do not . <br />
