PERSONNEL 1NEL BOARD MEETING MINUTES of JULY 21 1986 MA HPFE TOWN HALL f The following Bond members were present : Chairman Robert. W. Sullivan , Carolina M. Gilligan , Manuel Glickman , C. Ben Lofchi-e and Leo Turo ,: - w Chairman Sullivan convene d the m'eetin'g promptly at 6 : 00 p .m . Senior Citizen Director Position Chairman Sullivan -advised thBo rd that he would like to recommend to the Board of Selectmen that the -senior~ Citizen Director position be filled part- time 5 his . weekly) on a temporary basis until a needs assessment of. the department could be completed . He commented that by firing an individual part-time , the B� afoul-d off.er an individual a rata of pair over the Out- Reach Co=ordinatorls position . Ben Lefei moved to recommend that the position of Senior Citizen Director be filled part-time and that an" individ- ual be hired at a Step 4 of the current grade . . Manny Glickman seconded . All in favor , Appointment of Personnel Beard 'Memb r The Beard acknowledged the appointment of thoir new Board. member~ Dr . Leo Turo and welcomed him aboard . . Dr . Turo has been =sworn in by Town Clerk . Full-Time Police Officer Interviews The Board , along with the - assistance of Chief Frye and' Deputy Chief Cooper , interviewed the following candidates for the position of full-time police officer : 'Paul Nichols , Pandy D Mello , Damon . Handy , Robert Burns , Christopher Casey ; Dean Melrose and Matthew 1-aaney .. All candidates were advised of the current salary of the position , the hours of the position and the rotating schedule and the fact that they ooul'd be on the night shift up to two years or longer . They ' were ' also apprised of the academy weight requirements . [upon completi n of the 6tal int. rview process the Board voted to n-arrow down the selection to the following semi-finalists : Christopher Arg ntinis , Michael sexton (beth of t-ITe6sedandida-tes were interviewed on July 1 , Matthew Clancy and Randy DeM llo . Background-?-,chks gill ' be conducted by the Mashpee Police Department as the next step of the process . All Beard members were given copy to review . Step Increases .i The Board voted to grant a step increase i-n '*pay to Ernie Virgilio from Step to Step 4 of Grade 15 and to Ed Martin , Fire Chief , from Step . 1 to step 2 of Grade 20 based upon favorable evaluations .
