PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> i <br /> MINUTES• F MAY 81 1986 MTG. <br /> MAHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The Personnel Board held this Special Meeting on Thursday, May 8, at 6:00 p.m. The <br /> following Board members were present: Chairman Robert W. Sull-iv,an, Caroline M_ Gilligan, <br /> Manuel Glickman and C. Ben Lof hie. <br /> Personnel Board Minutes of April 1 <br /> Manuel Glickman moved to accept the Personnel Board minutes of April 14. Ben Lofchie <br /> seconded. All in favor. <br /> f <br /> Request for waiver of Probationary Period P. 'White <br /> The Personnel Board was asked to re, ie r and comment to the Board Of Selectmen on a request <br /> for waiver 'of probationary period for benefit purposes only for Patricia White, Administra- <br /> tive Secretary to the Building Inspector. [Upon review of the favorable recommendation <br /> given by Doug Boyd, Bu'l lding Inspector, and 'upon the excellent work performance of Mrs. <br /> White (not only as an AdministrativeSec-i~etary but as a Board Secretary) , the Personnel <br /> Board voted unanimously to recommend to the Board of Selectmen that the probationary period <br /> be waived for benefit purposes only. The Board also took into consideration the fact that <br /> waiver of probationary periods for benefit purposes only has been dome in the past for em- <br /> ployees with similar circumstances. . <br /> Evaluation of Senior iti e.n' Director <br /> The Personnel guard was asked through a message from Priscilla Ham via the secretary to <br /> meet with the Council on Aging to give input on filling out the whole evaluation form on <br /> the Senior Citizen Director as they ha've questions on filling out a' page. Chairman Sullivan <br /> requested that the secretary contact Priscilla and set up an informal meeting on Saturday <br /> to' give guidance in filling out the form. <br /> Interviews of Asst. 'Building Inspector <br /> The Personnel Board, along with the assistance of the Building Inspector, interviewed the <br /> following candidates for the position of Asst. Building Inspector: William Hauck, Randall <br /> Osgood and Walter Kosarick. -Another candidate scheduled to be interviewed called during <br /> the evening to cancel his appointment scheduled for p.m. Jose Benitez) . Mr. Benitez <br /> asked that his application be kept on file for future consideration. Four other applicants <br /> chosen to be interviewed failed to make appointments: <br /> After the conel si n of the interview process, the Personnel Board narrowed the selection <br /> mown to two..candidates : Walter Kosarick and William Hayek. Background checks will be <br /> dome prior-. to recommendations being seat to Board of Selectmen. <br /> Evaluation of Secretary to Personnel <br /> The Board requested Chairman Sullivan to conduct the yearly evaluation on their secretary, <br /> Marilyn Farren. - Chairmnan - Sull.ian agreed to complete the evaluation form unless someone <br /> from the Board made a specific request to give their ihnput., <br /> Promotional Vacancy } <br /> An in-house posting has been made on the Supervisor position at the DPW in which employees <br /> in the department may apply. Written examination elate will be given on May 29 at which <br /> time the secretary w-.1.1 administer.
