PERSONNEL BOARD MINUTES OF AUGUST 17 , 1987 MASHPEE TOWN HALL The following Board members were present for tonight ' s meeting -, Robert W. Sty l l-ivan , Chairman , Caroline illigan , Y Clerk ; Manuel l l ickma and C . Ben Lofchie . Chairman Sullivan con ven d the meeting at 5 : 30 p .m . Interview of Candidate - Skilled Laborer Position The Board interviewed Kevin Hicks for the position of Skilled Laborer . The job description , salary informati n and fringe benefits were discussed with the--ieandidate _ The applicant ' s work background was reviewed . Verification of licensing was completed ; Along with a Ma : Driver ' s License , Glass II , Mr .. Hicks holds a Heavy Equipment Operator ' s License , - lass Upon completion of the intervi-ew .process , Ben Lofchie moved to recommend Kevin Hicks for the position, of Skilled Laborer . Manuel Glickman seconded the motion . All present wer-e in favor . . Note : The Board previously interview d two other candidates for this posi- tion on July 2.0 at the D.P : : Building. -- John McGrath and Earl Cash ,' Jr . Mr . ' McGrath was qualified for the position ; however , withdrew his applica- tion shortly thereafter stating 'that he decided to stay with his present line of work . Mr . Cash did not 'qualify for the position as he does not have the Class II Driver ' s license . Interview of Candidates Fire - h-'ief Position The Personnel' Board interviewed -six candidate- for the position of Fire chief as follows : William Chase , Edyin Harr p., David curxi'er ,, Gary Mc a.rr her , Thomas Cardel.lo and Robert Tucker '. Salary information , the job description and job qualifications were discussed with each candidate . The Board viewed each applicant ' s work history .- Upon conclusion- of the interview process , the Burd narrowed dow-n the selection process to four semi-finalists 1 Robert Tucker , 2 . Will'iam Chase and Thomas Gardelto tied for second place ) and 3 . David Currier .
