PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MINUTES F APRIL 13, 1992 PAGE 2 <br /> m_i_ _i_strative Secretary Position - 'fir` . <br /> uriia■nnnru �i iia rr <br /> She advised the Board that the Executive Secretary asked that the <br /> guidelines of the typing test be waived for the two in-house <br /> candidates who applied for the position of Administrative Secretary. <br /> He also asked that they be allowed to continue in the process <br /> indicating that he would like to give in-house applicants every <br /> opportunity for promotion. <br /> 1 <br /> Rita Sousa commented that either the guidelines be followed or we <br /> should do away with the typing test . <br /> The Personnel Assistant expressed concern on waiving the typing test <br /> requirement . She indicated that all employees should have been made <br /> aware in advance if typing standards were going to be waived which <br /> would give equal opportunity for all individuals who wished to apply <br /> for the position. <br /> The Board asked that Chairman Sullivan be contacted to follow up on <br /> this matter and to meet with the Fire Chief and the Deputy Fire Chief <br /> at their meeting scheduled for Thursday morning, at 9: 00 a.m. <br /> Memo- from D. P.W. Director <br /> The Board reviewed a copy of a memorandum from Greg Taylor, D.1rector <br /> of Public Works to the Board of Selectmen dated April 10 relative to <br /> the Personnel Board opinion in a memorandum dated February 1 , 1992 , <br /> No action taken by the Board . <br /> NEW BUSINESS : <br /> Temporary a.r ormasterrary a.rbormastear <br /> The Personnel Board set the interview date for Temporary Harbormaster <br /> for Tuesday, April 21 , at 1 : 00 P,m w <br /> Ten�oraronserva Conservation Clerk <br /> The Board asked Leo Turo, liaison to the Conservation Commission.. to <br /> assist Bob Sherman in interviewing for a temporary part-time clerk . <br /> Holidays for art-Time Personnel <br /> The Personnel Assistant asked the Board for their opinion regarding <br /> the section of the -P.A. P, relative to paid holidays for part-time <br /> personnel , <br /> She explained that the question was raised relative to the part-time <br /> Water District Clerk in the Treasurer ' s office. <br /> The Board noted that according to the Holiday section of the � <br /> C Personnel Administration Plan, non-standard part-time employees are <br /> r not eligible for holiday pay. They also discussed the towns policy <br /> that standard part-time personnel should not be receiving holiday pa. <br /> if they do not normally work on tay which the holiday falls .
