PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> MINUTES OF APRIL 21 , 1992 <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> r <br /> 4 <br /> I <br /> The following members of the Mashpee Personnel Board were present <br /> during the Executive Session held for the purpose of pre-screening <br /> job applicants for the position of Temporary Harbormaster: Robert <br /> Sullivan, Lev Turo, Jane Stockbridge and Rata Sousa. <br /> Also present during the meeting to assist the Personnel Board were : <br /> Lew Schwartz and Dan Homeyer of the waterways Commission, Bob <br /> Sherman of the Conservation Commission, Selectman Carol Jacobson, <br /> Selectman Judy Mills and Selectman James Vaccaro, <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 1 : 10 p.m. <br /> The following candidates were interviewed : Peter alenius, Ronald <br /> Rust howl hy, Henry Hadden, Richard Halpern, William Barton, illi aim <br /> c a hern, Dan Bohnenbearc er, Mark Hansen, Richard Picard and Jeffrey <br /> Gaineborg, <br /> The background and job qualifications of each candidate were <br /> reviewed by the Board . <br /> At the conclusion of the preliminary interview process, the <br /> Personnel Board was in agreement to narrow down the selection <br /> process to the following candidates : Henry madden, Ronald <br /> Rutk owshy, Peter Salenius and Richard Picard, <br /> Henry Madden of blest Falmouth, was the Chief Harbormaster for the <br /> Town of Falmo.uth from 1974 through 1983 . He was responsible f o ar the <br /> day-to-day management and operation of the Falmouth Harbor Marine, <br /> He left the Town of Falmouth in 1983 to manage and operate the <br /> Bourne Marina in Buzzards Bay until 1988 . At the present time, Mr. <br /> Hadden indicates that he is doing a tremendous amount of boating. <br /> He is very familiar with the I ash ee waters, state and federal <br /> regulations and would have no problem enforcing the town by-laws . <br /> Har. Fadden has strong public relation shills . <br /> Ronald Ru howshy of Hyannis recently retired from acture military <br /> service with the . Coast Guard. His experience ranges from over <br /> twenty years of small boat operations, vessels up to 65 feet, with <br /> four years experience as the Commanding Officer of U. S. Coast Guard 1 <br /> Station woods Hole . He also has sixteen years experience as a' <br /> Federal Law Enforcement Officer. Some of Mr. Ruthows y t s res onsi- <br /> t � <br /> bilities included search and rescue, marine law enforcement, marine <br /> environmental protection and boating safety. He has strong adminis- <br /> tration <br /> dminis- <br /> ra i n shills and communication shills , <br /> i <br /> Beteg Salenius, currently of Framingham, summer house on Mashpee/ <br /> aheby Bond has experience as an Assistant Harbormaster for the � <br /> Town of Mashpee for the past five summers .
