PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MINUTES OF MAY l l , 1992 <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Mashpee Personnel Board were present : <br /> Robert W. Sullivan, Chairman, C. Been Lofchie, Jane Stockbridge, Leo <br /> Turo, and Rita Sousa, <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 6 : 03 p .m. <br /> Position Descri. tion - aterwa. Administrator <br /> Kevin Harrington responded to the Personnel Board ' s request for <br /> input on the draft of the Waterway Administrator position descrip- <br /> tion. He feat that the Executive Secretary should be the supervisor <br /> over the Administrator. <br /> Town Meeting recently voted to consolidate the positions of <br /> Shellfish Constable and Harbormaster to that of a waterway <br /> administrator to be effective as of November 1 . Rita Sousa moved <br /> that we ask the Selectmen when they want an ad placed in the <br /> newspaper so that we will have someone named b November I . Ben <br /> of hie secondede Leo abstained , All others in favor. Dote An <br /> article requesting the funding for this position will be placed on <br /> the October Town Meeting warrant by the Board of Selectmen . <br /> Memo - Collective Barg,ainin <br /> The Board reviewed a memo from Kevin Harrington, Executive <br /> Secretary, relative to receiving input towards the new Collective <br /> Bargaining Agreement with the Police, D. P.W. and Clerical unions . <br /> Rita suggested reviewing the contracts and then having a meeting to <br /> discuss it. Jane commented that the Board could give their input <br /> and have someone from Per o nnel sit in during negotiations as an <br /> observer. <br /> Reguest to Review Administrative Secretary Positions - Fire <br /> Treasurer ' s Office <br /> Both the Fire Chief and the Treasurer have requested to have {the <br /> Administrative Secretary positions in their departments re- <br /> evaluated . Jane Stockbridge agreed to do the review and report back <br /> to the Board. <br /> Floating, ler} Position <br /> The Board discussed the fact that the Floating Clerk position was <br /> refunded at Town Meeting . The person formerly in the position, Bea <br /> Horton, was assigned to the Police Department , The Board felt that <br /> the Police Chief should be invited to meet with the Personnel Board <br /> so that they could explain the circumstancesip <br /> m to meat Service Contract <br /> The Board received a draft of an employment service contract for <br /> Joyce Mason. They agreed to review it and discuss it at their next <br /> meeting scheduled for May 13 . <br />
