t PERSONNEL BOARD MINUTES/MARCH 41 1997/PAGE - There are a lot of duties not being done because they were not assigned in the job descriptions Payroll duties have become easier to train on the computer. The J' ob descri tions were updated, and Deputy Cooper would like the Personnel Board to approve rove them -even if the hiring for thew is not approved at Town meetings The senior clerk position would involve billing and receiving which could draw in as much as $10 ,000 from alarms fees and fines , There would also be increased hours at- the counter, fingerprinting cards , reparts preparation and distribution. Carole D. suggested hiring a full.-time person rather than upgrade the dart-time positions . This would be more efficient. in teras of cross-training , and we have floaters for the heaver work times ,. Norma K. suggested comparing the costs and go before the Finance Committee showing the advantages. of hiring ,a full-time person. Norina K. moved to upgrade the records clerk position from .rade 2 to 4 effective 7-1-97 der Article 23-. Marcia L. seconded.
