a <br /> 14 TRUES OF THE `: HIPIERS 'ML BOARD ITETING <br /> April 3o 1978 <br /> This meeting ing was called to order a :3 P-ma by Chairman, `rank Leonardi, with <br /> members John Peters, Jr. , Wilma Graham, and Phil DiI or to in attendance. <br /> The minutes of March 28, 1978, were accepted as presented <br /> Dog Officer, David Roddy, arrived at b.-,00 p.m. for a discussion of his salary <br /> budget for fiscal year 78/79. A letter was sent to the Finance Committee informing <br /> them of this Board's concurrence h Mr. 'Roddy's request for ars increase in his <br /> salary budget. Mrs Roddy was also asked to prepare a job descri-ption for the <br /> Personnel Board's files. <br /> Mr. Robert Cour e aanche, Shellfish Constable, requested that Mr. Steven van Tol be <br /> appointed Deputy Shellfish Warden. The Personnel Board were in agreenent on this and <br /> sent its recommendation to the Board of se ec ment <br /> In view of the recent resignation su-bmitted by Patrolman W11son Landers, Police Chief <br /> David O'Connor has requested that immediate action be taken to fill this position. <br /> Chief O 'Connor was informed that, ' ossib e, this Board would like this vacancy to <br /> be filled by an individual who is presently employed as a Special Police Officer, and <br /> a nerrio eras seat advising all existing Special oli e' i vers . excluding those on <br /> private details) who are. in er s ed in tho posttion,. to submit app:lica ions no later <br /> than A.Dril 10, 1978- <br /> After <br /> ' .After a. lengthy di cusslon of the possibility of a Public Safety Officer for the <br /> Town Ma hoee, the Board voted a seat a recommendation to the Board of Selectmen <br /> for inclusion in the Annual Town Warrant. Because this Position can not be created <br /> under the oresent 'down Charter, this Board recommended that the present Chief of <br /> Police be anDointed to the r)osi ion of Fire Chief al,5o, and that the recommended <br /> salary be split o reflect th6 two positions which he would then hold. Two now <br /> positions would have to be created in the Annual Town Warrant for a-p ova a the <br /> Annual 'down going; na !ell, a Deputy d'ir'e Chief` arra a. Clerk/Typist for the Fare <br /> Department. This Board requested the right o alter their opinion' on this matter <br /> should it pope impractical after ma-re thorough investigation o this si ian's <br /> certificate of completion for a course in of ce Administration taken by Chief <br /> 'Connor was 'duly noted and filed. <br /> doctor's certificate was received and filed for Purley Green. <br /> Vacations were approved for the following personnels <br /> Frank is s 14/78 <br /> Richard Martini 5/12/?8 - 5/13/?8 <br /> oVl a nd Evo ra 4/2/78 <br /> 5/26178 ~- 5/za/78 <br /> Geon Willis 4/20/78 - 233 w <br /> avid Fitzgerald 3/29/78 <br /> Mitchell Swierz , Jr. - 4/15/73 <br /> James Volpe's request for a cancellation of his one-day vacation request was approved. <br />
