MITS OF TIM 14ASF-PEE P7ERSONIEL BOARD MEI N <br /> August , 1978 <br /> -� The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Frank Leonardi, with <br /> members Kenneth 'arolski and John Peters, Jrs present. <br /> Police Chief David Js O'Connor attended this meeting as did Police Association <br /> Bargaining Committee members, Brad-ford Fish, Mitchell Swierz and Maurice Coo doer; <br /> 'Police Association President Edgar Burro ghs; and attorney Stephen Murphy, repre- <br /> senting the Police dissociation. <br /> Changes to the Police Contract were discussed in length until 10:30 p.tri. , at <br /> which time this Board ,proceeded with a regular businessmeeting: <br /> The minutes of July 2 , 9?8, and July 26, 1978, were accepted as presented& <br /> Mrs* Elizabeth Nelson, secretary to the Indian l useu a, has asked that her leave <br /> of absence be extended. through September 4, 1978, and the Board of Selectmen was <br /> informed of this pard's approval of her request. <br /> Due to the resignation of Ms. Franny Golden, Indian Museum Curator, which would <br /> be effective august 11 , 1978, this Board has recommended that Ms. Barbara Ryder, <br /> who is presently acting as interim secretary for the Museum, be appointed interim <br /> Curator until a permanent appointment can be made. The Board voted to advertise <br /> immediately for this position. <br /> The Board of Selectmen were advised that this Board concurred with their memo <br /> regarding authorization of enrollment of special Police officer Ronald Beva.c qua <br /> in the September 11th session at the Barnstable Police Academy* <br /> 11 N Y ii5+r F <br /> iYl l!55Y + .'1 <br /> 5 5r„ yfl <br /> 1n answer to his proposal to the Board of Selectmen that the position of Deputy <br /> Fire Chief be created within the Fire Department, Fire Chief Gregory Willis was <br /> advised that it was the Personnel Board members' feelings to hold this suggestion <br /> in abeyance until a permanent Fire Chief has been appointed, at which time the <br /> m Us of this position could. be discussed more -def I tivel . <br /> In concurrence With a request from Fire Chief Gregory Willis, this Board rec -- <br /> ended to the Board of Selectmen that Mr. David Consalvi and fir. David Dottridge <br /> be a pointed temporary firefighters through September 15, 1978, and the proper* <br /> departments were notified of these appointments for pay purposes. <br /> . letter was sera to the Board of Health requesting information as to whoa that <br /> Board has appointed as Town Physician. <br /> Health Agent, Charles Buckingham, requested a meeting With this Board., and an <br /> appointment has been arranged for Monday evening, August 1 , 1978, at 8:30 p.m. <br /> letter was sent to Florence Lucas, Town Treasure .,'And Tax Collector, regarding <br /> grout) insurance coverage it applies to individuals o .eaves o absence. It was <br /> pointed out that, in keeping with Section' 15 of the Salary Administration Plan, all <br /> MP <br /> individuals working a minimum of 20 hours per week are eligible for group insurance <br /> coverage. <br /> Ptd e Remmert Kokmeyer and Ptl.
