Mashpee Cultural Council <br /> Minutes of August 4, 2014 Meeting <br /> Meeting was called to order at 9:35 by Barbara <br /> Those in attendance: Barbara, Bruce, Lynne, Madeline and Sarah <br /> Minutes from the previous meeting were tabled at this time <br /> Treasurer's Report: Bruce reported that reminders need to be sent to grant <br /> recipients to submit their reimbursement reports <br /> Old Business: Revisions to our local guidelines were discussed (see attached <br /> document for changes that were made). Bruce made a motion to approve all <br /> changes that were discussed. Lynne seconded the motion and the changes <br /> were approved. Sarah will input all changes onto the Massachusetts Cultural <br /> Council website. <br /> New Business: The following items were discussed but not voted upon: <br /> • The possibility of the Mashpee Cultural Council getting its own email <br /> address <br /> • The possibility of the council doing fundraising to supplements funds we <br /> get from the state <br /> • Holding a contest in the schools to create a logo for the Mashpee Council <br /> • Survey results were beneficial in identifying areas that we need to <br /> improve our recognition in the community and the types of projects <br /> respondents were interested in seeing the community <br /> • We were denied an opportunity to speak with teachers at the town wide <br /> teachers meeting at the start of the school year. We feed it is important <br /> to inform the staff about the grant. Discussed the possibility of an email <br /> blast from the superintendent's office or setting up meetings with staff at <br /> each school. <br /> The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 <br /> Respectfully submitted by <br /> Sarah Daley <br />
