I <br /> i <br /> k <br /> i <br /> Board of Selectmen Page lane <br /> Regular Meeting <br /> Wednesday, Jure 24, 1987 <br /> have been found for collecting all of the hazardous and - otherwise <br /> unacceptable mat-erial but funds are not available to begin the <br /> actual contracting. <br /> 79 Appointments , T expedite action on appointments <br /> which expire June 3o, 1987', the Chairwoman suggested if there are <br /> any appointments on ,which a, member of the Board has a question o <br /> some other concern, tha.�t appointment will be put on "hold". <br /> Mr. Lawrencesaid that , in his opinion, unless the: -term of -ars. <br /> a.p ointment is set by state statute , Town -law, standing <br /> committee , the appointment should be for one year only. A list <br /> of appointments was <br /> provided by the Executive Secretary and action <br /> on appointment was as follows : <br /> Department Head <br /> Vernice Polka, Town Accountant - three-year term by <br /> state statute. Mrs lawrence roved to reappoint Vernice <br /> Polka as Town Account for a three-year term. lir. Gottlieb <br /> seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous <br /> June a. Animal Control Officer .o Officer. Mr. Gottlieb <br /> mored �tha.t June Daly be reappointed as Animal ontro l officer/ <br /> , .o Offier for a, one-year term. Ir. Hansom seconded the <br /> motion which was unanimously carried; <br /> John Varkondal_ Conservation Officer. This motion was withdrawn by lir. <br /> Lawrence pending further investigation of status of some appointees , <br /> Thomas Pudala Town Planner, It was unanimously agreed to <br /> hold action on this appointment, <br /> Wendy Rubin Parks and Recreation Director. Mr. Lawrence <br /> moved that Wendy Rubin be reappointed as Parks and Recreation <br /> Director for a one--yeas term. Ir. Caster seconded the motion.. <br /> The vote was unanimous . <br /> Ernestit ili _ RI. <br /> T e warden. Mr. Hanson moved that Ernest <br /> Virgilio <br /> be reappointed as Tree warden for a one-year term. <br /> Mr. Carter seconded the motion, The vote was unanimous , <br /> Ernest Virgilio.p Herring warden. Mr. Hanson moved that <br /> Ernest Virgilio be reappointed as Herring Warden. Mr. <br /> Gottlieb seconded the motion.. Mrs ,, Thomas opposed, and <br /> Mrs Lawrence and Mro Carter in favor of this motion, <br />
