The Board of Health has <br /> requested in their memorandum of June 22, 1987 that the Board of <br /> Health be given for use when conducting official flown business , a <br /> vehicle that will be inactive for Police Department use shortly. <br /> Mr. Murphy reported that the Conservation Com i si n has also re- <br /> quested the use of this vehicle for use particularly by the Con- <br /> servation Officer. Vehicles used by both Departments at this time <br /> are in extremely poor shape according to the Executive Secretary. <br /> After discussion, lir. Lawrence roved that the Board of Selectmen <br /> authorize this vehicle for the use of official Town business of the <br /> Conservation Commission. Mr. Gottlieb seconded the motion, lir. <br /> Hanson abstained from voting, Mr. Carter, Mr. Iawre c e , and Mrs . <br /> . <br /> Thomas voted in favor of this motion, <br /> 7e Board of Health - article . The Board of Health has <br /> submitted an article for approval for inclusion on the warrant of <br /> the next special town meeting. The article concerns the storage or <br /> keeping of any trash, rubbish, garbage , building debris , Imetal pro- <br /> duct debris , discarded rubber tires , stumps and brush, junked auto- <br /> mobiles , or any other obnoxious refuse , either solid or liquid b <br /> owners of real estate after being ordered in writing to remove sane <br /> by the Board of Health or its authorized designees . S h l l i h.in -- communication from .Gregory1_ :�I..y <br /> 1 A I I 11 II■ II i I�I�I�gilipl�liiplrggy <br /> In a letter received by the Board of Selectmen's office on July 9 , <br /> 1987, Mr. Ryas., who is a licensed commercial fisherman, alleged <br /> severe ha.ras smut on the part of residents of Monomoscoy Island, <br /> He also reported unprofessiona.l behavior on the part of one of the <br /> Town officers , The Harbormaster stated that he was the Town officer <br /> alluded to by Mr. Ryan and provided details of a confrontation and <br /> also related isolated incidents and alle ed regular practices o <br /> Ir. Ryana. a. commercial hellfisherman which. appear to be illegal and <br /> have incited residents in the area.. lir. Gregory Ryas, also reported <br /> in his memorandum that residents were intending t draw a petition <br /> o have she rivers c lose d to commercial fish.i g, Shellfish warden <br /> David Ryan discussed these issues, He noted that Little River and <br /> Great River have traditionally be open to commercial shellfi hing <br /> and that there are numerous shellfish in the areas . He said he does <br /> not support closing these areas to commercial she llfishing at this <br /> time . Ir. David Ryan said that he has received complaints from re s z- <br /> dents and has discussed these complaints with. Gregory Ryan and that <br /> hO has also spoken with the residents in an attempt to educate -them <br /> concerning laws in effect in these natters and particularly againstthe reseeding of shellfish beds by private individuals . <br /> e artment of Public works - recommendations for bids <br /> for materials ,.
