Mro Lawrence er pha i ed that <br /> this meeting was called for informational purposes only and i {riot <br /> a. hearing. <br /> Mr. Buff Chase , Managing Partner of Fields Point Limited Partnership <br /> owner of Mashpee Commons , began the presentation at 7:20 P. Me with <br /> background information leading to the charges in that area., speci- <br /> fically <br /> peci- <br /> fica.lly from New Seabury Shopping Center to l ash pe e Commons . Mr. <br /> Chase saidp "Approximately a year ago , the Board of Selectmen <br /> approached Fields Feint Corporation 'in our capacitor as High wood <br /> Water Company to discuss the long-term plans of the Town in regard <br /> o the water system. At that time , when we were asked to participate <br /> in the Town's long--term water planning, one of the questions that <br /> carne up was what capacity of water would we be requiring in our <br /> development area around the lashpee Rotary. In order to ascertain <br /> our needs in that area, we have spent a lot of time on an in-depth <br /> planning process'.'. Mr. Chase said that plans exhibited this evening <br /> are not fixed at this time and that all comments would be welcomed <br /> for further discussion at a later date. <br /> Douglas Storrs of Fields Feint discussed the three major issues to <br /> e resolved in this developement which are traffic , water supply, and <br /> waste water. He displayed several conceptual plans for the resolution <br /> of hese issues indicating diagrams of str et types and building types . <br /> Pyr. Storrs also discussed briefly the proposed changes in the Zoning <br /> By-laws to create and accommodate different zoning requirements,, <br /> Ir, Andres Duany presented slides depicting various types of ho-using, <br /> building set-backs , parking accor oda ions , and street lay-outs as <br /> models of what is being envisioned by Fields Point Corporation.-for <br /> development at Mashpee Commons ,, <br /> John Pi e ,Esq. , representative for Fields Point C o pora.ti on said that <br /> the Corporation would like to take the plan- to Whole Town and have it <br /> approved at a, Town Meeting and through a zoning amendment in which the <br /> Town would have an opportunity to express its views on the plan and <br /> approve it or . , ,"'if we-'re way off base ,, obviously, we won't get that <br /> approval. one of the purposes in coming before the Town Boards is <br /> the hope that you can steer s down the right aths th t e ll o <br /> doingsomething that is consistent with what t e Town wants �o jio <br /> g a <br />
