Mr. Carter m'o �ed to, extend the appointment o William Chase as Acting Fire Chief f r an indefinite period or until a. permanent Fire Chief is appointed. Ir. Gottlieb seconded the motion, The vote was unanimous . Mr. Hanson reported that there is a meeting scheduled by the Personnel Board on Monday, August 17 to interview candidates for the position of Fire Chief. As the Board of Selectmen hold their regular meetings on Monday night, Mr. Hanson will be unable to attend the meeting of the Personnel Board. A memorandum will be sent to the Personnel Board informing thea of the conflict of meetings . After discussion, it was unanimously agreed to further inform the Personnel Board that expediency. would be served ' .if they were to conduct preliminary 'Interviews in their usual manner, Ener, choosing the three top candidates and making recommendations to the Board of Selectmen for further 'Interview and selection of a appointee, NEW BUSINESS , le OtisTrailer Village Ia.a a. er,, Dale We MacDonald -- letter re : John's Pond Park Beach. In his letter dated August 3 , 1987 , .. M . Iasi ona.ld cited continuous objectionable and excessive noise at the Village and John's Pond Campground during the summer months . He urged consideration for the installation of a gate or other type of barricade so that the park area, would be dosed from 9: 00 P. M. to 9: 00 ,. M. during those months . It was unanimously .agreed to defer further discussion or action on this matter until a. response from the Police Department can be requested and submitted.
