Murphy <br /> i <br /> Guests: John Ferguson, Dr. Deloura.,and Jim O'Hara <br /> MINUTES <br /> Selectman Lawrence moved to accept the October 13, 1987 regular and executive <br /> sessions with the following amendment: <br /> Regular Session - Page 3 #2 should read Delia O'Connor <br /> Selectman Carter seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br /> APPOINTMENTS &. HEARINGS <br /> 7:00 - Selectmen were scheduled to meet with Earl,.Mills-- Jr. relative to renewal <br /> of the Mashpee Wampanoa Tribal . ounc-il, Inc. shellfish grant. <br /> Being no one in attendance the Board deferred this until Mr.. il.ls arrived. <br /> 7:02 - Selectmen met with the School Building Committee relative to their <br /> recommendation to accept the low bid of Eastern Contractors with <br /> Alternate #1. . <br /> Ir. Ferguson explained they took alternate #1 to reduce the cost to <br /> allow for contingency funds and equipment. <br /> Selectman Carter moved to accept the bid dated October 30, 1987 of <br /> Eastern Contractors Inc. of Newton to construct the Mashpee Elementary <br /> School and that alternate #1 be accepted and alternates two and three <br /> not -be accepted, and further that this acceptance is contingent upon <br /> the approval by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to provide financial' <br /> assistance- to construct and equip the school in the amount of 70 <br /> percent -of the school costs. Selectman Gottlieb seconded the motion. <br /> All were in favor. <br /> T:07 - Mr. Earl Dills Jr. representing the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Council. <br /> Inc. requested a public hearing for- renewal of their shellfish grant. <br /> Selectmen scheduled a public hearing on November 23 at 7: 15 p.m. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1 Selectmen reviewed a communication from Attorney William E. Crowell, Jr. <br /> regarding Henry CO Labute and the maintenance of roadways -in the John's <br /> Pond area. <br /> Mr. Murphy- read letter. <br /> No action was necessary. <br />
