i i BOARD OF SELECTMEN' MINUTES MONDAY, DECEMBER 28, 1987 Regular Session Present : Selectmen Thomas , Gottlieb, Lawrence and Carter , and Executive Secretary, Joseph F. Murphy Guests : Dr. Petti , Wendy Rubin, Mary Duddy, Ernie Virgilio , Richard Halpern, Dr . DeMoura , and Sue Billings Selectman Thomas convened the meeting at 3 p.m. APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS 3 : 00 Selectmen had before them an application for a seasonal all.-alcoholic license filed by ottavia-Emma Inc, d/b/a Carl ' s . Mr . Murphy advised the Board that Mr. Galasso wishes to withdraw his application and will submit his request in writing, Selectman Gottlieb moved to continue this until January 4, 1988 at 7: 30 p.m. Selectman Carter seconded the motion. All were in favor . OLD BUSINESS i Selectmen reviewed the recommendation submitted by the Director of Parks and Recreation relative to the Community Recreation Building Needs Committee. Nis . Rubin recommends that a sub- committee of the Parks and Recreation Advo.sory Committee research the need of a community recreation building before forming the committee through town meeting. The Board concurred. 2Y The Board was requested to sign a new amendment to the option agreement between the Board of Selectmen and Earle Mar tern for the Town to purchase 21 . 3 acres of land along the Mashpee River . The new amendment would allow the Town to exercise and option not later than April 1 and take possession not later than May 2, Selectman Gottlieb moved to execute amendment #2 . Selectman i Lawrence seconded the motion. All were in favor . 3) Selectmen discussed the issue of engineering services for the Town. Selectman Thomas pointed out the Town could contract for engineering services or go out to bid . Selectman Gottlieb expressed an interest in looking into the position of Town Engineer,
