General Regulations - # - Shellfishing is <br /> prohibited in any area designated as a "Private Shellfish <br /> Grant Area" by the Board of Selectmen except for the <br /> r arnth l der, and his employees or permittees, <br /> notwithstanding any regulations or stipulations to the <br /> contrary as designated by the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Violations will result in aN citation under this <br /> regulation or may be subject to various state penalties <br /> including finest i mpr onmen and/or damages u ht by the <br /> gra ntholder. Mr. Somerville stated that he had <br /> elaborated n this regulation since the private <br /> shellfish grantholder has the option of taking someone to <br /> the State under the State regulations and can claim <br /> dares if someone was to enter into a private shellfish <br /> grant area. <br /> # - General Regulations - Commercial Catch Limits - <br /> Commercial Quahog limit has been cut from three bushels <br /> per dr to two bushels per day. <br /> x#10 -- General Regulations - When using any basket rake <br /> r approved harvesting tools, all natural cull material <br /> rust be removed and returned to the waters from which it <br /> was taken, preferably below the mean low water mark, All <br /> man-made debr i s such as glass, cans, bottles, etc. shou l d <br /> be removed from the area ad di spored of in a proper <br /> place a nd manner. At no time sh uld any materials be <br /> deposited above the high water mark on public or private <br /> property. Mr. Somerville felt that it was important to <br /> add this to the regulations so that Individuals would <br /> pick up this debris, rather than throwing it onto t <br /> private property, <br />
