BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES REGULAR SESSION <br /> MONDAY, DECEMBER 1 1989 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> APPOINTMENTS <br /> JOINT MEETING WITH F11A ICE COMMITTEE -- There was a joint <br /> vote between Selectmen and the Finance Committee relative <br /> to the vacancy ori the F finance Committtee. . <br /> Mr. Hanson mored to appoint Vernice Polka to the Finance <br /> Committee, Mr, Lawrence seconded the motion. Mr. Gottlieb <br /> and Mr. Carter were in favor. Finance Committee member <br /> Mr. Dolan, Mr. V C rro, Mr. Gallo and Mr. Ferriday wereAn <br /> favor. Mr. Heller was opposed. <br /> There was discussion relative to the Annual Town Meeting <br /> and whether any zoning articles would be included. Mr t <br /> Hanson stated that he would Check with Tom Fudala to <br /> determine whether there were any zoning issues for the <br /> Annual Town Meeting. <br /> The Finance Committee asked that Mr. Nutting provide a Copy <br /> of the submitted budgets received from Department Heeds on <br /> January 19, 1990 along with the estimated revenues, After <br /> review, the Finance Committee and the Selectmen will meet <br /> and discuss recommendations . <br /> There was discussion Concerning the fact that the Finance <br /> Committee denied the request of the Selectmen for $1 , 000 <br /> reserve fund transfer. The Finance Committee stated that <br /> there was a lack of information provided, i .e. , where the <br /> candidates were coming from, how many Candidates were <br /> involved. Also, there Is $786. 00 currently in the account. <br /> Based 6n this, the request was denied. <br /> Mr. Danson moved to cancel the out-of-state candidates due <br /> to the ]a ck of support of the Finance Committeee of the <br /> efforts to 5elect an Executive Secretary for the Town. Mr. <br /> Lawrence seconded the motion. The motion did not carry. <br /> The Finance Committee indicated that they would reconsider <br /> their decision. <br /> The Board agreed to postpone Its decision relative to <br /> cancelling the Interviews of the out-of-state candidates <br /> until after the Finance Committee had reconsidered its <br /> vote. <br />
