* 1k <br /> i <br /> a <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 7 <br /> MINUTES <br /> MONDAY FEBRUARY 4: 1991 <br /> Meeting with the Finance Committee <br /> Kevin Harrington discussed the tentative dates to meet with the <br /> Finance Committee to discuss philosophies. <br /> It is the consensus of the Board for the Finance Committee to <br /> place their philosophies in writing to the Board for review. <br /> Next Scheduled Mee tin I <br /> The Selectmen have decided to meet on Wednesday# February the <br /> 20th at 7:00 Psmo for their next scheduled meeting. <br /> 8t42 p.m. Cape e Cod Commission Updates <br /> Mr. John Halachis discussed the Cape Cod Commission update with <br /> the Board. He will be providing the Board with a full summary report <br /> every quarter* <br /> survey was done to address the areas of concern with Cape <br /> residents. The primary areas of concern include protection of water <br /> resources t waste management and traf is con estio . <br /> The current projects of development in Mashpee are the McDo nalds, <br /> Bufflehead Bay project, Mashpee Commons, New Sabury WasIte Water <br /> Treatment Facility and a recent request from Little River Boatyard. <br /> On February the 27th, the Cape Cod Commission wild. hold a public <br /> hearing at the Mashpee Middle School to address the regional ana ;e� <br /> meat for growth in Mashpeeo <br /> Mr. Halachis reports the Commission is offering some seed money <br /> to provide assistance to towr for local planning. There is a larger <br /> sure of money available for several of the Barnstable County districts <br /> for a model city and how the plans apply* <br /> Mr. Halachis also reports he is now a full member of the Commission <br /> rather than an alternate member. He is available to looal organizations <br /> as well as with the Planning Board. He enjoys the position that <br /> requires a great deal of time and commitment.ent. a is also able to sit <br /> on projects involved inn Mashpee. <br /> Selectman Manson commended liro Halachis for dedicating his time <br /> and is pleased to learn he is able to sit on projects s involved i <br /> Mashpee and being able to represent Mashpee. There are several areas <br /> of critical concerno especially with the future economics. <br /> Selectman Jacobson mentioned the preliminary results of the <br /> citizen survey. With a response of 644, it shows the residents of <br /> Cpae Cod on a regional approach are concerned with protecting our <br /> water resources, waste management and traffic con estion. It' s an <br /> economic foothold for the Cape* <br /> Mr*. Halachis again mentioned the public hearing on the 27th which <br /> is at Ptme. urging attendances He will make sure the Board rec i eve <br /> a copy of the regional policy pr�ogr�a of haw the Commission envisions <br /> growth for the Board t familiar with. <br />
