* 1k i a BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 7 MINUTES MONDAY FEBRUARY 4: 1991 Meeting with the Finance Committee Kevin Harrington discussed the tentative dates to meet with the Finance Committee to discuss philosophies. It is the consensus of the Board for the Finance Committee to place their philosophies in writing to the Board for review. Next Scheduled Mee tin I The Selectmen have decided to meet on Wednesday# February the 20th at 7:00 Psmo for their next scheduled meeting. 8t42 p.m. Cape e Cod Commission Updates Mr. John Halachis discussed the Cape Cod Commission update with the Board. He will be providing the Board with a full summary report every quarter* survey was done to address the areas of concern with Cape residents. The primary areas of concern include protection of water resources t waste management and traf is con estio . The current projects of development in Mashpee are the McDo nalds, Bufflehead Bay project, Mashpee Commons, New Sabury WasIte Water Treatment Facility and a recent request from Little River Boatyard. On February the 27th, the Cape Cod Commission wild. hold a public hearing at the Mashpee Middle School to address the regional ana ;e� meat for growth in Mashpeeo Mr. Halachis reports the Commission is offering some seed money to provide assistance to towr for local planning. There is a larger sure of money available for several of the Barnstable County districts for a model city and how the plans apply* Mr. Halachis also reports he is now a full member of the Commission rather than an alternate member. He is available to looal organizations as well as with the Planning Board. He enjoys the position that requires a great deal of time and commitment.ent. a is also able to sit on projects involved inn Mashpee. Selectman Manson commended liro Halachis for dedicating his time and is pleased to learn he is able to sit on projects s involved i Mashpee and being able to represent Mashpee. There are several areas of critical concerno especially with the future economics. Selectman Jacobson mentioned the preliminary results of the citizen survey. With a response of 644, it shows the residents of Cpae Cod on a regional approach are concerned with protecting our water resources, waste management and traffic con estion. It' s an economic foothold for the Cape* Mr*.
