i # r IL BOARD OF SELECTMEN Pag e MINUTES MONDAY JUNE 3p 1991 Selectmen MeetingssPolicy A proval: The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to adopt the Board of Selectmen Meetings Policies and distribute to all departments. The motion was seconded by Selectman. Caffyn. The vote of the Board is unanimous. The vote is -o. It was suggested by Selectman Gottlieb to place this on cable. Selectman Oa.ffyn rade note to ask cable to slow the process since it is difficult to read when it appears too 'fast on the network, Harbormaster aster Schedule Status date George Benway III was present to discuss the schedule he has worked on with the Executive Secretary. IViost of the heavy coverage will be on the weekends. The Board of Selectmen have his number of where he can be reached. He will be on the radio at all times. Selectman Jacobson asks if there is a plan for the assistant harbormaster?aster* r. Benway replys there i s. They are meeting on Saturday night ars.d will. have monthly ly meetings of discussion, The new people will e on board within the next two weeks. It would be beneficial explains Selectman Jacobson to arrange for the volunteers to patrol the bays and oceans. She suggests Mr. Benway set up a schedule for the volunteers. Even if they donate an hour, there would be an extra feeling of protection on the waterways, Mr. Benway is in agreement and will bring this up at their next scheduled meeting, Selectman Gottlieb asks if there is one person to a boat? Selectman Jacobson also suggested Mr. Benway contact the assistant waterway person from last year. e may be able to offer services on the waterways this year. Selectman Caffyn has recommended lir. Benway change the schedule to allow coverage for July 4th. It falls on a. Thursday this year, She suggests with any added holiday there should be increased coverage of the waterways. Discussion Relative ve to the 129.1 Beach 02erations, Dean Driscoll was present for the discussion with the Board. Selectman Gottlieb is concerned with the ashpee-wake y gate opening and closing from the hours of 9: 00 p.m. to 5: 00 a.m. In the past there have been no problems. Most of the enforcement problem' s are during the daytime hours states Selectman Gottlieb, He feels the Town may run into problems with the people who fish during the night* He has recommended to hold a public hearing on this issue* Selectman Jacobson noted she ha.s had several comr en.ts 1.-froze the neighborhood that would like to have this done.
