ti BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 6 <br /> MINUTES <br /> MONDAY JUNE 3, 1991 <br /> Directed Patrol Town Owned Beaches -�Boat Ramp Mash f <br /> Selectman Jacobson is concerned with the patrol on Town owned <br /> beaches as well as South Cape Beach in enforcing the bylaw, Enforce- <br /> ment of ublic drinking and beach sticker violation are important to <br /> keep ab st of. <br /> Chief e informs the Board the officers are instructed to get <br /> out of the cruisers on foot patrol* Each cruiser will stay in the <br /> area. at least ten to fifteen minutes and will enforce the bylaw as <br /> much as possible in the South Cape Beach area. <br /> Selectman Caffynasks if this isovertime? Chief Frye explains <br /> it is part of the summer program. <br /> Mrs. Ferriday asked if any of the vehicles in violation will be <br /> towed? There will be tow signs installed in the three beach areas and <br /> any violators will be ticketed or towed explained Selectman Jacobson. <br /> The motion was rade by Selectman Gottlieb to execute the Directed <br /> Patrol of the Police Department will full support from the Board o <br /> Selectmen. The motion was seconded by selectman Caffyn, The vote of <br /> the Bo-ard is unanimous, The vote is 4-0a <br /> Hazardous Tra isCondition: <br /> It was recommended by Chief Frye to consider no parking signs be <br /> posted on both sides of Great Neck Road beginning south of the Yiashpee <br /> River and continue south to the Quashnet Road intersection. <br /> Chief Frye is concerned with people crossing the street in the <br /> area of the Riverbend nightclub. He has talked with the nightclub <br /> owner of this concern. Chief Frye Feels the sidewalk area should be <br /> posted. The nightclub owner has agreeJto police the area, on his own. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb has recommended to go ahead with the Full <br /> recommendation of the no parking -sign placement. The problem has been <br /> reviewed in the past and the nightclub owners assurances are not 'av r- <br /> abl:e. The signs on both sides of the street will not be unsightly. He <br /> hopez the o�Nner. of the establishment will concur. <br /> The Board is in agreement. Selectman Jacobson made mote of the <br /> calls she has recieved with the regards to underage drinking in the <br /> establishment. She suggests the Police Department 'investigate the under <br /> l or teen night at the club. <br /> Selectman Lawrence suggested a discussion concerning a license <br /> Without a complaint be deleted from discussion. <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to post no parking signs- <br /> on both sides of Great,,jReck Road beginnning at a. point just south of the <br /> M shpee River and continuing south to Quashnet Road intersection. The <br /> Motion was seconded by Selectman Lawrence. The vote of the Board is <br /> unanimous.. The vote i 4-0. <br /> Next Scheduled Meeti� <br /> The Board will meet on Thursday June 6, 1991 at 7: 00 pone with <br /> the Fiscal Policy Advisory Committee, <br /> meeting is scheduled for Monday June 10, 1991 at 6: 00 p.m. with <br /> Attorney Bill Lee in Executive Session. <br />
