I
i
ARD OF SELECTMEN
MINUTS-MASH EE MIDDLE SCHOOL
iNDA , OCTOBER 7, 1991
Present: Selectman Jacobson, Selectman C a.ffyn, Selectman Hanson
Executive Secretary Kevin J . Harrington
Town Counsel Joseph J. Reardon
Absents Selectman Lawrence
Guests: Gregory Taylor
The Meet'ing was Called to Order by Chairman Jacobson at 6: 30 p.m.
5
Discussion relative to Harbormaster' s Schedule:
Selectman Jacobson noted the appointment period for the Harbor-
master
rbor-
r a. ter i s 120 days. The correct appointment is through October 31st
instead of September lto
According to the bylaw, there may be some confusion with the
appointment of the Harbormaster states Selectman Hanson. Our bylaw
states the Harbormaster shall be appointed for one year. The appoint-
ment of 120 days could be illegal. He suggests for Counsel to make
aruling on the appointment,
Due to the bylaws, there seem to be a.lot of gray areas states
Selectman Caffyn. She felt some of -the appointments were wrong due
to the bylaws,
Selectman Jacobson suggests to hold this discussion for the
opinion of Counsel..
The period of September 15th to May 15th reflects the amount
of funding available reports Mr. Harrington. The period of May 16th
through September 14th reflects the position funded at 40 hours per
week.
Donna' s Lane,, Update:
Selectman Jacobson noted her concern in spending $11, 582. 00
into the project. This does not cover the improvement of existing
grading and curve and existing roadway and asphalt is not being
unproved on the Great Neck Road south end. The layout to tie in with
job' s Fishing Road is also not included , She suggests to obtain a.
status report from Mr. Taylor @
This might be premature states Selectman Hanson, Doug Storrs
repres6nting Field' s Point who is now an abutter has worked closely
with the. intersection throughout the entire bypass project as well
as Donna' s Lane, Mr. Storrs would be included in the discussion.
Selectman Hanson also notes the center line is there for a. specific
reason.
Selectman Hanson recommends that until, this is clear and we have
had a chance to talk with Mr. Storrs, we should hold this discussion,
The scope enables us to open up Donna' s Lane informs Mr. Taylor.
This is not a, longterm resolution to a out over,
That is correct states Selectman Hanson. It is a relief, an
experiment, The road was privately owned and closed to due a feud
to identify the corner involving Mr. Vasil.
Selectman Hanson has recommended to discuss this with Ernest
Virgilio of where, why and what the plan s o ld be used for.
