BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 6 <br /> MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29 , 1991 <br /> Requests of Board of Assessors and Denise Sullivan : <br /> Two requests from the Board of Assessors and Denise Sullivan <br /> include the waiver of a six month probation period for benefit <br /> purposes only. Mr. Harrington notes this probationary period is for <br /> new employee ' s and Ms . Sullivan has been a town employee in the past. <br /> The second request is to recognize Ms . Sullivan ' s prior service <br /> with the Town for calculating leave benefits . There was a break in <br /> Ms . Sullivan ' s service to the Town reports Mr. Harrington due to a <br /> position not funded. For approximately three months , Ms . Sullivan <br /> was not an active employee . <br /> Mr. Harrington recommends this situation be approved by the <br /> Board. Situations such as this may come up in the future with fiscal <br /> constraints . He recommends the Board take the situations on a case <br /> by case basis . <br /> Selectman Hanson suggests for appropriate input from the Personnel <br /> Board on this subject matter. Ms . Sullivan is represented by a labor <br /> group informs Mr. Harrington. She is not a PAP employee. This author- <br /> ization would fall under my office and the Board of Selectmen states <br /> Mr. Harrington. <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Lawrence to approve the requests <br /> of Denise Sullivan and the Assessor ' s Office . The motion was seconded <br /> by Selectman Caffyn. The vote of the Board is unanimous . The vote <br /> • is 4-0 . <br /> Appointment of a School Building Needs Committee Member : <br /> Mr. Harrington recommends the appointment of Phyllis Desmarais <br /> to the School Building Needs Committee. The committee will meet <br /> with the Selectmen within a few weeks to give the Board an update. <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Caffyn to appoint Phyllis <br /> Desmarais to the School building Needs Committee . The motion was <br /> seconded by Selectman Hanson. The vote of the Board is unanimous . <br /> The vote is 4-0 . <br /> 8 : 15 p.m. Selectman Lawrence has left the Meeting. <br /> Acceptance of Land as Conservation Land: <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Caffyn to accept the parcel of <br /> land from Robert S. Smith. <br /> The Conservation Commission under Chapter 40, Section 8C has the <br /> right to accept land informs Counsel . It is the policy of the Board <br /> of Selectmen to review the parcels before any land is accepted. <br /> Selectman Hanson has recommended to hold this acceptance for one <br /> week until the Board has reviewed this further. He suggests a plot <br /> plan be included in the Board ' s packet for review. <br /> Jacobson agrees to hold this acceptance Selectman until next g <br /> week. <br />
