The prolene is serious . I
it is not corrected,. half the width 'of the road will not be there
and the road will be impassible.
The Committee is currently working on long teat solutions for
the bridge reports Mr. Gordon. Bonito Contractors have given ars
estimate for the emergency repairs to the bridge, The price of
$5500
f-
0o includes installation of pressure treated lumber, use of existing
pilings , addition of stone riprap and backfill with coarse gravel .
The plan has been worked on by Mike Grotske.
Mr, Harrington reported he has visited the site with DPW Director
Greg Taylor, The condition descried by Mr. Gordon is accurate. There
is a substantial amount of erosion and a large hole in the middle of
the road.
'Iowa Counsel was contacted and signage and barrels have been
permitted and aro in place to warn residents of the condition. Two
steel plates were placed over the hold today to provide some relief .
The situation has to be addressed states Mr . Harrington.
Last year there was a similar prolene with the bridge reports
Mr . Harrington, The Town made the necessary repairs and was reimbursed .
There is a need for the Town to expend the money to resolve the im-
mediate prob-lem. Mr. Harrington reports he is pleased there is a long
term solution to the bridge.
The solution would be temporary and not long term states Mr .
Taylor since we are utilizing existing timber. There are two areas
where the pavement is broken from the read reports Mr . Taylor. ' one is
on the edge of the bulkhead and the other is in the center of the road .
These are two very serious problems . There is also a third problem
on the other side of the bullhead where it is holding -up the soil .
Mr. Gordon noted the problem has stemmed from a water leak that
was repaired by the Nater District . This accentuated the problem with
the excavation that was done. He asks what the contribution and liab-
ility is of the District#
