i <br /> BOARD of SELECTMEN Page 4MINUTES <br /> TUE DAY, APRIL 2l , 1992 <br /> Discussion to Hold Payment : m <br /> Selectman Mills indicates that payment has been held for two <br /> time clocks that total the amount of $990. The two time clocks <br /> are to be utilized in the two schools for - . custodians. She <br /> recommends to give the School Department the quotes obtained from <br /> the town offices. The estimates are a considerable amount less <br /> ranging from $2-300. <br /> Selectman caffyn agrees . It seems excessive in these <br /> times , she agrees to send a letter to the school Committee <br /> Chairman asking them to review the cost's . + . <br /> Mr. Harrington relates the equipment is installed and in <br /> place in the two . schools. It may be ill advised to delay <br /> payment , <br /> eletran caf fn suggests obtain advisement from the school <br /> Department and see if the time cloek.s can be returned. <br /> second check was held for payment for the survey work that <br /> was done on Popponesset Spit by the firm of Levy, Eldridge and <br /> Wagner. The amount is $500 and the Board asks why it was on last <br /> weeks warrant for payment? <br /> Mr, Harrington indicates he did not know this was an agenda <br /> item for discussion. He will loop into and review it further. <br /> He suggests to place the item on the agenda next week. <br /> With regards to the survey that was cone on Popponesset <br /> Spit , r. Harrington indicates that we were pursing the Federal <br /> funding for permanent rehabilitation to the spit. He stet with <br /> Paul Somerville , Hobert Sherr an and members of the Water Nays <br /> commission. <br /> The purpose was to demonstrate the level of the resource <br /> area at a certain peak In time y for presentation to regulatory <br /> agencies with reference -to Federal reimbursement , <br /> Further review of this subject can be made next week when <br /> -Mr. Harrington is better prepared with the necessary information. <br /> Selectman Mills indicates the plans and information were <br /> seat and made o-ut to the New Seabury corporation. <br /> Selectman Jacobson questions as to why the town is involved <br /> with private property? She noted that Mr, Harrington and the <br /> Town Accountant were to flag unusual bills . <br /> Selectman Lawrence indicates that this is not an agenda <br /> item, It should be on the agenda for further discussion. <br /> **The motion was mace by selectman caffyn to place this item <br /> on the agenda for tonight ' s discussion. The motion was seconded <br /> by Selectman Mills. <br /> Selectman Vaccaro asks Mr* Harrington if he- is prepared to <br /> discuss this item tonight? Mr . Harrington .indicates that he will <br /> be better prepared if this was placed on the agenda of April 2 , <br /> 1992 . <br /> It is the consensus of the Board to place this item on the <br /> agenda of April 271 1992 , <br /> ****The motion was made by Selectman Mills to ask "Town Counsel ' s <br /> opinion if we have the legal right to make payment. The motion <br /> was seconded by Selectman Caffyn, VOTE; Unanimous, -o . <br />
