BOARD OF SELECTMEN
Page
MINUTES - POPPONESESSET SPIT
THURSDAY, APRIL , 1992
next few days , are we going to have a problem? His understanding
was that if this imformation was filed the way they said they
were going to file it , then there is no problem.
caffyn Now all of the questions that are in this letter
are going to be answered' Tim what you have to do is stated in
the Letter,. I would like to see this application being
filled . . . . I think we have to see something.
Vaccaro The gentleman indicated he did not want to get
involved .-
ca fyn It ' s not political Tim, It is not political at
all. All it is is misrepresentation.
(Vaccaro) He apparently felt that he was getting himself
and the Corp of Engineers involved in something they did not want
to be involved in. He said to rye, the only thing that he wants
the filings done. on a timely basis. The Town of Mashpee or New
Seabury or anyone else who wants to do anything with that area
get the proper authority- before they do .it,
(Caffyn) Absolut-ely ,. Jacobson It certainly makes
sense , caffyn It is a filing after the fact . It is all he
was asking for since November and it just never -got to hint and
they got ticked about it because they didn ' t get the proper
filing.
(Vaccaro) He also indicated to rye that we weren ' t the only
ones who received that letter. Six other individuals apparently
had done some work after the storm also .
(Caffyn) Jim, the problem that I have and I all not going to
sweep this under the rug again because we do this all the time,
you cone up with New Seabury picking up the $500 and the
conversation encs . Now Mr, Grotsky is going to fill out the
forms .. So the conversation end's .
(Vaccaro) I am not trying to sweep it under the sand
Nancy.
affyn What we need to do is to understand what the
property is. being represented . We have involved ourselves with
money for the fill. This has to do with the fill and the
dredging. It does not have to do with the levy. I saw the FEMA
reports where in fact the property was represented as Town owned .
caffyn We did not see that as Selectmen. We never saw
those FEMA applications until way after the fact . I just want to
see what is being presented here.
