T ; <br /> 4 <br /> } <br /> i <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 1 <br /> MINUTES <br /> MONDAY, JANUARY 41 1993 <br /> Popponesset Island Association e: Waiver of Permit Fees=. <br /> Correspondence was received from the Popponesset Island <br /> Association in request to waive the building and demolition <br /> permit fees for -the construction of the Popponesset Island <br /> bridge. <br /> Mr. Hauck submitted a memo dated December 30, 1992 in <br /> response to the Popponesset Island bridge. He indicates that the <br /> Building Department has not received any perm.t applications for <br /> the related work. A fee of $.7.00 per loo is the estimated <br /> charge per cost of construction informs Mr, Hauck. <br /> Mr. Hauck indicated that AGM Marine is scheduled to complete <br /> the bridge work for an estimated sum of $84,000. Not included in <br /> the fee i -addi for work to pipe, re' -connect the electrical and <br /> re-pave the area. Mr. Hauck estimates the project cost <br /> $100-10000 <br /> With regards to the permit process , Mr. Hauck indicates that <br /> the engineer of AGM Marine will be the responsible party to <br /> obtain and sign off on the building permit. <br /> Popponesset Island resident, William Peterson was present to <br /> request the waiver of demolition and building permit fees for the <br /> bridge construction . He indidates that this fee was not <br /> anticipated nor included in the budget of the bridge. <br /> 5 <br /> Mr. Peterson Tela -ed that the order of conditions has been <br /> f ilea . AGI Marine i ready begin the process on Tuesday if <br /> the selectmen approve the waiver of above fees . <br /> *The motion was made by Selectman Costa to approve of the <br /> waiver of building permit and demolition fees for the <br /> construction of the Popponesset Island bridge. The motion was <br /> seconded by selectman Mills* VOTE: ' Unanimous, 4-0 * <br /> Selectman Vaccaro indicated that although this is a unique <br /> circumstance, he is concerned in setting precedent to the waiver <br /> when non-profit organizations are subjected to the permit fees , <br /> Communication from STG Consultant services re: Designation <br /> of Environmental Certifying officer for Small Cities Grant : <br /> Selectman Vaccaro indicated that at this time, the project <br /> will not be moving forward , In the private sector, the tax <br /> incentives have expired . selectman Vaccaro noted that the state <br /> has set aside their portion for the project . <br />
