BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br />MINUTES <br />M NDAY APR IL 26,. 1993 <br />Present: Selectman Caffyn, selectman Vaoo ro, Selectman Mills, <br />Selectman Jacobson, Selectman Costa <br />Executive Secretary Robert Whritenour <br />Guests:- Bill Zammer, George Benw y,-Richard York, Steve Ball, <br />Jane Stockbridge, Greg Taylor, Arthur DeP ul, Paul Ott <br />Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Caffyn at 7:23 p.m. <br />Shellfish Re u l a t i on Hearing:, <br />Selectman Caffyn read the -Public Dearing notice relative to <br />the 1993 Shellfish Regulations for the purpose of discussing and <br />taking action on the recommendations of the Shellfish <br />Commission. Selectman Caffyn indicated that the 1992 Shellfish <br />Regulations are still in effect $ <br />Mr, Whritenour indicated that the Shellfish Regulation <br />Dearing has been properly posted and duly a ver.tised 4b <br />Shellfish Constable Richard York discussed the proposed <br />changes relating to the 1993 Shellfish Regulations, The Changes <br />include; Adding -the words; <br />Commercial Shellfish Permits $75,00 <br />Commercial Scallop Permits $50oOO <br />40 Effective January 1, 1994, Commercial Shellfish permits will <br />be issued from March 1 to April 30 only indicated Mr. York. <br />Commercial Shellfish Permits will not be issued at other tires of <br />the year. <br />Mr. York indicated that the proposed 1993 Shellfish <br />Regulations acid a section for Commercial Scallop Permits on a <br />year round basis. <br />The 1993 Regulations propose to delete the words; 11catch <br />must be culledr before lancing, into chowder, cherrystone, and <br />littleneck sizes', and "Remainder of the catch to be mixed cull of <br />cherrystones and chowders,." <br />Mr. York indicated that all current commercial license <br />holders will be notified of the 1993 Shellfish Regulations* The <br />regulations are posted continuously in the Shellfish Office, Town <br />Clerk's Office and Office of the Board of Selectmen noted <br />Mr. York. <br />7:30 p.m. Selectman Caffyn Closed the Public Hearing. <br />*The motion was made by Selectman Mills to approve the 199 <br />Shellfish Regulations as presented. The motion was seconded by <br />Selectman Costa, NOTE: Unanimous. -. <br />
