BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 7 <br />MINUTES <br />MO TD Y , JULY 260, 1993 <br />DPW Director re: Intersection of cotuit Road and Route 130: <br />s noted by Mr. Taylor, the above area leads the list with <br />eight reported accidents in twelve months. chief Frye has <br />reviewed the proposal and approves of the reconstruction to serve <br />in the best interest of the Police Department noted Mr. Taylor. <br />With the coordination of several sub -contractors, the work <br />can be completed in one day for an estimated amount of 2, 0 to <br />$3,000 informed Mr. Taylor-. The money is currently in his <br />budget. <br />*The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson to direct the DPW <br />Director to move forward with the proposed project as soon as <br />possible, The motion was seconded by Selectman Mills, VOTE: <br />Unanimous. 5-0 . <br />7:29 p,m, Community Garden Discussion: <br />Tona Wattt representing the Beautification Committee was <br />present to discuss the proposed Mashpee Community Gardens with <br />the Board. Also present in support was; Marry Scanlan, Gus <br />Frederic], Greg Taylor and George Baler. It was noted that chief <br />Frye is also supportive of the proposal. <br />. Watt and Ms, Scanlan reviewed the proposal to locate <br />the garden adjacent to the parking lot on the north side of the <br />Fire Station. The land fakes south and is bordered by the woods <br />noted Ms. Watt. <br />The area i s central and accessible to residents indicated <br />Nis, Watt. Water is available in this location for fourteen <br />garden plots. <br />It is the consensus of the Board to approve the proposal a <br />presented, Town Counsel will be consulted as to the liability <br />release and implementation of the Community GardenCommittee* <br />Public Hearing: <br />Willowbend Change of Descri tion <br />Selectman Vaccaro opened the Pubic Hearing at 7:50 p.m. to <br />discuss the application of Willowbend Devel'opmen.t corporation to <br />change a description of premises. <br />For disclosure, Selectman Jacobson indicated that she serves <br />on the Board of Trustee's Willowbend's Children's Charity with <br />Selectman Mills. <br />. go <br />
