• <br />i <br />i <br />• BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTES <br />MONDAY, N VEMBER 15, 1993 <br />9 <br />d j ournm nt <br />**The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson to adjourn at 7:05 <br />p.m. The Board will enter into Executive Sessions at this time <br />for the purpose of discussing negotiations and/or litigation. <br />The Board will re -Convene in Open Session at 7:15 p.m. The <br />emotion was seconded by Selectman Costa, NOTE: Unanimous. -0. <br />Selectman Caf fyn absent. <br />**Roll Call Vote: Judy, yes <br />George, yes <br />7:15 p.m. PUBLIC HEARING <br />Sunday Openings for _Hol ion, , <br />Carol, yes <br />Jim, yes Nancy, absent <br />Selectman Vaccaro opened the Public Hearing on the issue of <br />Sunday Openings for all packages stores beginning the Sunday <br />before Thanksgiving and each Sunday thereafter until New Year <br />Day. <br />Brim Anderson, 'owner of Andy's Market was present to <br />request the Board's approval for Sunday Ope-nings of all package <br />stores in Mashpee as approved last year,. <br />Mr, Anderson requested the Board approve the Sunday openings <br />for ' the above time period as a Condition of the license, It <br />becomes a Confusing issue to the Consumer when many surrounding <br />towns Comply with the Sunday openings noted Mr. Anderson, <br />Marie Soalley voiced opposition to the proposed Sunday <br />Openings. Sunday is a family day and a day of rest related <br />Ms. SCalley. Liquor does not belong with Sunday sales. <br />Liquor Warehouse representative Fred Blythe indicated that <br />many establishments in Mashpee are not complying with the Town <br />bylaws. For this reason, the establishments not in Compliance <br />should not be allowed to open on Sundays. <br />r, Whritenour strongly recommended to make the violations <br />known to the Board of Selectmen in written Complaint. The Board <br />of. Selectmen and Building Inspector will submit written response <br />to this Concern indicated Mr, Whritenour. <br />Being no further comment, Selectman Vaccaro Closed the <br />Public Hearing at 7:28 p.m. <br />
