c <br />I <br />BOARD of SELECTMEN Page 7 <br />MINUTES <br />M NDA ', NOVEMBER 29, 1993 <br />7:35 p.m. Public Dearing; Joint Meeting: <br />Tax Classification: <br />Selectman Vaccaro opened the Public Hearing to hear public <br />comment on the allocation of the tax leery by classification of <br />property. <br />Present for the Joint Publ-ic Hearing was Water District <br />Commissioners; Richard. Halpern, Al Orlando and Ed Baker. Also <br />present for discussion was Assessor David Bailey. <br />Mr. Bailey indicated that the Board of Assessors do not <br />recommend the split rate tax classification and residential <br />exempt i n . <br />Being no further conm►ent ► Selectman Vaccaro closed the <br />Public Hearing. <br />The motion was made by Selectman Mills to maintain the <br />single tax rate classification. The motion was seconded by <br />Selectman Caffyno VOTE: Unanimous. 7-0 . Selectman. Jacobson <br />absent. <br />*The motion was made by selectman Mills to not adopt a <br />residential tax exemption as recommended, The motion was <br />seconded b Mr. Orlando, VOTE: Unanimous. 7-0. selectman. <br />Jacobson absent* <br />School Building Committee: <br />Members of the High School Building committee► Finance <br />Committee and representatives from the architectural firm of DRA <br />were present to discuss the upcoming Special Town Meeting and <br />Election. <br />Mr. Dinizio, chairman of the High School Building Committee <br />indicated that the matrix was reprised as requested to present <br />factual data of the two sites under consideration for a future <br />high school, <br />As noted by fir. Dini io, the Town can now go forward to make <br />a decision on the site of the new high school, We are thankful <br />to members of the community to make us sharpen our pencils to <br />obtain all the necessary information. <br />The site development process gives us all an opportunity to <br />get involved and contribute into the process to obtain a sense of <br />ownership and bring the community together indicated Mr. Dini io. <br />
