MINUTES of THE MASEE PERSONNEL BOARD MEETING <br /> January 8, 1979 <br /> This meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Frank Leonard. . <br /> Members Wilma Graham, Kenneth Parolski, and John Peters, Jr. were present <br /> The Minutes of December 12, 1978, were accepted as read. <br /> The Board formulated,and unanimously accepted an employment policy, which i <br /> effective immediately. A letter was sent to Town Counsel expressing this <br /> Board' appreciation for his assistance in preparing this statement, and <br /> copy of said statement was forwarded to the Board of Selectmen for information. <br /> Upon receipt of a directive from the Board of Selectmen regarding the position of <br /> Park and Recreation Director being filled by two part-time individuals, the <br /> Personnel hoard is of the opinion that such a change in the positron would <br /> necessitate a vote at Annual "down Meetinga Wherefore, the re-advertisement of <br /> such a position would be meaningless at this time. <br /> Florence Lucas ' request for ars annual merit increase for clerk, Vernice Polka, <br /> was denied at this time due to the fact that this Board's interpretation was <br /> such that, having been employed less than six months at the present time, a <br /> merit increase for Mrs. Polka at this time would not be deemed proper, and <br /> -Mrs. Lucas was advised that after one year's service the Board would revie <br /> the request. <br /> "down Accountant was .informed of this Board'sroval for <br /> pp tuition reimbursement <br /> for Firefighter Richard Martini in the amount of $75.00 <br /> letter of resignation was received from Ms. Ellen vitag .iano as secretaryto <br /> the South Cape Beach Advisory Committee. <br /> Due to the fact that chapter +512 of the Acts of 1978, re ardin sovereign <br /> gn <br /> immunity, has been rescinded, Town counsel has been asked to advise this <br /> Board <br /> as to what, if any, protection is being planned for individuals serving a <br /> municipality as an elected official or On any board or committee. <br /> Town Counsel was also asked to advise as to the legality f information released <br /> by this Board to Ptle, Edgar Burroughs. <br /> Meetings have been arranged, as requested, with the Committee for the Revision <br /> of the Salary Adr .nistra ion Plan and the Council onin for <br /> g g January 1 , 1979, <br /> Vacation requests were approved for the following individuals: <br /> Roger 1'edeiros 1/12/79 <br /> 1/15/79 - 1/19/79 <br /> Edgar Burroughs 12/23/78 12/26/78 <br /> Maurice cooper 12/24/78 <br /> David K. Fitzgerald 12/23/78 - 12/25/78 <br /> 1/19/79 - 1/28/79 <br />
