a <br /> x <br /> RESUME OF SELECTMEN'S STING <br /> DATE: 17 March1955 <br /> The Board convem d at PM <br /> Routine business brought before the board bills & etc.. <br /> new• custodian for the Town Hall will have to be <br /> considered. ' Resignation received from Mro Hicks Sr due to <br /> illness . Mr. Gardner who has substituted for r. 'Hicks this <br /> past winter will revert to his regular employment soon but i <br /> willing to continue for a week or so in' order to instruct a <br /> new custodian. Letter received from Mr. Gene Baker requesting <br /> consideration for custodian' s j6b. No other applicants this <br /> date. Question arose as to wheth r or not Custodian was <br /> covered for .n urses •re td while maintaining building; <br /> specifically a boiler roar mishap. Check is to be made. it <br /> was decided that Selectmen would have close supervision over <br /> use of building by town or ani t i n s to avoid abuse of <br /> priVile e. Mra Gardner reported that the ladies lounge has <br /> been abused on nights that hall has been used by local clubs <br /> having' record hops. It was suggested that letters be written <br /> to the clubs requesting closer watch of the building or use <br /> of hall may be forfeited. <br /> Applications for shellfish Warden vacancy :received from <br /> Dothan PetersEdward Tavares and Frederick Pcenett. -fetters <br /> placed on file for consideration during next meeting. <br /> Letter received from Mims Alike Rose requesting renewal <br /> f Seasonal Liquor .s c ens . <br /> Mrs. Mills has sent Board a note requesting all Departments <br /> present all bills to her off-ce before. 5.6-00 PM on Thursday of TM <br /> each geek. This presents problem since 'Selectmen meet Thursday <br /> evening and majority of bills are presented then. There was <br /> nothing conclusive as ,-to how the two Departments could workqout <br /> agreeable schedule inasmuch as Mrs. Mills is via - at present <br /> Edward Tavares requested his name be nominated for Inspedtor <br /> f Animals. His name to be submitted to Dept. of Agriculture, <br /> Mr. Geo. Avant nominated as InspEector of Slaughtering* lame <br /> stetted to Dept. -of Public Health. <br /> Mr. Kenneth Coombs spoke to Board in regard to file cabinet <br /> for Public Nurse (Miss Kendall) . Mr. Sturgis will make purchase <br /> when de cion is mane& also spoke of grave school and social <br /> problem presented by the -Grace family Mr. Hicks explained about <br /> necessary court -action which is in process in order that mother <br /> and children may receive more financial benefits*its. <br />
