RESUME OF SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br /> DATE: 24 March 1955 <br /> Meeting convened at :- o PM <br /> Mr. Brophy carne before the Board in behalf of a Mr. <br /> alper from Brookline, Mass. in regard to property belonging <br /> th Mrs. Gibbs and the possibility of relocating present Town <br /> wad'. There is apr o imat el . 200 acres of land which Mr. <br /> alper is interested in buying from Mrs. Gibbs. He wants <br /> permission from the Board to relocate road whi-ch is a. town ova <br /> and if s ' type of read required, minimum width, size of lots, <br /> etc. Mr. Halper ,will meet with the Board on a designated <br /> date when prospective buyers may go over tentative plan of <br /> subm-div .sion -and relocation of road. <br /> Mr. Gene Baker was appointed new Custodian of the Town <br /> Hall. Mr. Barer was given instructions -b the Board as to his , <br /> duties and, r re ul a r hours, Nor. Gardner had previously <br /> instructed him on the general maintanance of building. and <br /> heating plant. Appointment - becomes effective 25 Maxi 55 at <br /> tho rate of $35*00 per week. <br /> Letter of appointment to be written to Mrs. Marguerite T. <br /> Kendall effective 3 Larch 1955. It was decided that Mrs. <br /> Kendall would handle her own publicity. <br /> John A. Peters presented his application as a candidate <br /> for appointment as Chief of Police under Article 97 Chapter <br /> 1 of G. Application was accepted by the Board and placed <br /> n file. Mr. Peters requested withdrawal of resignation from <br /> Police force as a Patrolman, which was presented to the Board <br /> in January. It was assured by Mr. Peters that the resignation <br /> had not been accepted inasmuch as there was -no formal <br /> notification of acceptance. However, Mro Hicks and lir. Aiken <br /> stated that the - previous Board inc. Mr. ills voted to <br /> accept resignation but failed to make it a ratter of record. <br /> Mr. Peters ? name has, in the m-eantime, been accepted b <br /> the board for consideration for a new appointment on the force, <br /> under the present setup pending; approval of the 1955 Town <br /> Warrant. <br /> 1t was decided by the Board that Mrs a Mills ' request for <br /> all bills submitted to the Town to be presented to her office <br /> prior t o �the Selectmen and accountant ' s approval, would be otLt <br /> of the question. Mrs. Mills f request can not be Justified. <br /> Mi7s. ,want care before the Board to offer e vance i <br /> regard to teen age record hops. In content, Mbs.
