' Mr, Doane highlighted various phases of zon- <br /> ing, namely: 1 the committee can adopt zoning y-lama`s <br /> under State Zoning -Act ; 2 actin of 'down meeting nec- <br /> essary <br /> ec- <br /> essary to adopt zoning by-laws; 3 Amendments ent can be <br /> made at 'down Meeting; The initial -laves require <br /> majority of ion Meeting 5 Amendments .require 2/3 <br /> vote of majority; 6 Public Hearing required before <br /> zoningby-laws are voted upon* Hearing 6r amendments <br /> must also be held* 8 By-laws which are accepted by <br /> Town must subsequently be approved by the Atty. General. <br /> 'fir. Doan also recommended -the following men be asked <br /> to speak at proposed forum - o explain - onirrg to res- <br /> -idents: Mr. C . William Johnson, qhm. Harwich Planning <br /> Board and Mr. George Bigalow, Member of Falmouth Plann- <br /> ing Board and Regional Director of Mads. Federation <br /> of Planing Boards of Cape Cod. Mr. Doan requested <br /> that we give his Dept a two week notice" before request- <br /> ing <br /> equest- <br /> 1 g a representative* <br /> A letter r cei ed from Secy. Cronin' s office <br /> statim discrepancy in 1955 census count. Our figure <br /> was 530 residents as o f 1 January 55 . The re-count <br /> by Cronin t s - office showed 524. It was decided among <br /> thie board to accept the tabulation of the Secy-.
