r MINUTES OF SELECTNMIS MEETING DATE: 20 October 1955 Meeting ting conv n d at 8:00 P . Mr. Aiken absent this ev5ning. Bill E6r payment of Police Cruiser ($2,250-52) approved and included on warrant. Mr. Hicks reported tb .t he had picked cruiser up and subsequently turned it over tb Mr. Nickerson of GotuAt for lettering, It should be reader in day or two. The re-upholster ing 1f lounge chairs ih lobby was discussed. 1dr. Sturgis offered to take a set of cushions to the Auto Top Shop in Hyannis for an estimate. The account contains $250.00'. The Finance Comrnittee did not meet this past week to approve the request for $00.00 for Police compensation. Miss Peters i formed r. dicks of her meeting with Mrs. Hendricks this afternoon in regard to the note she left last week requesting the Selectmen to not make any alterations on the Welfare Payroll. Mrs. Hendricks was referring to Miss 1e e s placing I .r. 411s n's name on the psy 'oll as the Disbursing Agent under Ohapter 283. Mrs. Hendricks is not the authorized disbursing Agent and when she s igns the payroll she is doing so for Mr. Wilson and should be indicated as such. Mr. Wilson is directly responsible for the payroll. This point was cleared up at a meeting with Mrs. Rowe and Mr. Wilson earlier in the year. It was hiss Petersl request that this proceedure be followed, Mrs. Hendricks stated that she had taken it upon herself to discontinue entering Mr. Wilson' s name however she admitted that Mr. -Wilson had instructed her to set the signature block up acc rdingly. This was accomplished by Mrs. Hendricks for several pay periods and then stopped. At this point, Miss Pet r s would ender Mr. Wilson's name as the Chapter 283 Agent. Mro. Hendricks further stated that Mr. 1 ikon did not instruct her to eliminate his- name but had informed him that she was not ging to continue. According to Mrs. Hendricks, Mr. Willson was a r e .ble. Mrs. Hendricks threatened to destroy any futher payrolls which are altered in any way. when asked about proper authorization to sign a o 1 , ,she stated that Mr. Franco made the authorization. Mr. Franco f course, is no longer w i h the department. Miss Peters told Mrs. Hendricks that she would take the matter up with. Mr. Wilson and further requested 1 s. Hendricks to refrain From leaving notes addressed to the Selectmen inasmuch as the Department is dealt with through Mr. Wilson. The second shipment of Shellfish was received this week which leaves approxim telt' 40 bushels r mai irg for delivery. The planted areas have all been posted :arid closed. Miss Peters i
