Minutes of the Selectmen' s Meeting <br /> Wednesday, . October 2, 1974 <br /> Selectmen Peters and O'Connell present. <br /> Selectman Hicks on vacation. <br /> Town Counsel present . <br /> 1) Selectman Peters met with the Personnel Board Chairman, <br /> William Clendenin to reveiw the applications for executive- <br /> secretary. Three days have been set aside for interviews; <br /> Oct. 15 , .,16, ,and 17 . Applications received, thirty-one,, of <br /> these eighteen are being interviewed. <br /> 2) Class II license issued to R4phael D. Collins , Jr. <br /> 3) General license issued to Joseph J. Silvia for the retail <br /> sale of pet food and pet supplies. Store locatibn; Route 130 <br /> Mashpee. Indian Village Tack Shop <br /> 4) Members of the Park and Recreation and the Recreational <br /> Director met with Selectmen to discuss the direction,• of <br /> programs . <br /> Selectman Peters explained the recreation director, is in <br /> charge of 'organizing of programs . He then- presents these <br /> programs to the commission for approval or addition; with the <br /> final approval coming from the Selectmen. <br /> Resignation received from David Velesig for personal reasons . <br /> Both David and Mike Horne have offered their services; but <br /> not full time . <br /> Permission granted to the comms§ion to have the ball field <br /> mowed by the Highway Department. <br /> 5) Appointment papers approved for Helen H. Kondothriste as <br /> part time Clerk/Typist for the Police Department and <br /> Ralph C . Rocheteau III as Sper-Lal Police Officer. <br /> 6) Council on Aging met with Selectmen to discuss the purchasing <br /> of a bar-ricks-at Otis.Auction will be held in October and <br /> the necessary papersneedfilling out. The Council has written <br /> to their congressmen for help concerning this matter. Only <br /> reply .r-eceived was from Rep. Kendall . Mr. Studds office will <br /> be contacted. Done, letter on the way. <br /> Selectman O'Connell believes this building can be bought <br /> for $1 .00. This is for a municipality, and the towns .ghoitld <br /> have first refusal before the state puts therest out to bid, <br /> Town Counsel will notify the council, which is the best way <br /> to approach this subject . <br /> 7) Legal notice placed in the Cape Cod Standard- Times , for the <br /> operation of taxis in the Town of Mashpee. Effective October 9th. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 10: 30 p.m. <br /> 1 . <br />
