Minutes of the Selectmen' s Meeting Wednesday, . October 2, 1974 Selectmen Peters and O'Connell present. Selectman Hicks on vacation. Town Counsel present . 1) Selectman Peters met with the Personnel Board Chairman, William Clendenin to reveiw the applications for executive- secretary. Three days have been set aside for interviews; Oct. 15 , .,16, ,and 17 . Applications received, thirty-one,, of these eighteen are being interviewed. 2) Class II license issued to R4phael D. Collins , Jr. 3) General license issued to Joseph J. Silvia for the retail sale of pet food and pet supplies. Store locatibn; Route 130 Mashpee. Indian Village Tack Shop 4) Members of the Park and Recreation and the Recreational Director met with Selectmen to discuss the direction,• of programs . Selectman Peters explained the recreation director, is in charge of 'organizing of programs . He then- presents these programs to the commission for approval or addition; with the final approval coming from the Selectmen. Resignation received from David Velesig for personal reasons . Both David and Mike Horne have offered their services; but not full time . Permission granted to the comms§ion to have the ball field mowed by the Highway Department. 5) Appointment papers approved for Helen H. Kondothriste as part time Clerk/Typist for the Police Department and Ralph C . Rocheteau III as Sper-Lal Police Officer. 6) Council on Aging met with Selectmen to discuss the purchasing of a bar-ricks-at Otis.Auction will be held in October and the necessary papersneedfilling out. The Council has written to their congressmen for help concerning this matter. Only reply .r-eceived was from Rep. Kendall . Mr. Studds office will be contacted. Done, letter on the way. Selectman O'Connell believes this building can be bought for $1 .00. This is for a municipality, and the towns .ghoitld have first refusal before the state puts therest out to bid, Town Counsel will notify the council, which is the best way to approach this subject . 7) Legal notice placed in the Cape Cod Standard- Times , for the operation of taxis in the Town of Mashpee. Effective October 9th. Meeting adjourned at 10: 30 p.m. 1 .
