Minutes of the Selectmen' s Meeting <br /> Wednesday, November 13, 1974 <br /> All Selectmen and Town Counsel present. <br /> 1) A new Secretary for the Personnel Board., JoAnn Akins of <br /> Fels Pond, replacing Del McKenna. Position was not advertised . <br /> (policy, part-time does not need advertising) secretary/clerk <br /> 2) Town Hall Custodian, Lansing Pocknett, met in closed session <br /> with the Board. <br /> 3) Mr. Charles Cross, Veterans ' Services met with Selectmen at <br /> their request to discuss the channeling of funds to the <br /> proper recipient. It is .suggested a meeting with the Executive <br /> Secretary be arranged to familiarize him with the Town' s <br /> needs. <br /> 4) Mr. Rohdin ' met with the Selectmen re : The recent procedure <br /> of appointing the new Harbor Master, William Marsters. <br /> Harbor Masters our appointed from the floor at annual town <br /> meeting. Town Counsel And the Board are considering another <br /> method. <br /> 5) Mr. Robert Maxim, member of the Personnel Board, and Tribal Council <br /> met with the Selectmen concerning telephone calls he has been <br /> receiving about the $1 , 200 retroactive salary of the Executive <br /> Secretary. How could the Board justify such a decision? <br /> Bob was assured this was a legal move, and our secretary <br /> was indeed studying reports to become familiar with the Town. <br /> it was also noted here, a call had been received from <br /> our Executive Secretary advising us . of funds which are . <br /> available for our municipal buildings. <br /> 6) Selectman Hicks will be away for two weeks vacation, returning <br /> November 30th. <br /> 7) Restrictions for a Class 3 License signed for "Butch" Auto Body" <br /> Applications mailed to the Registry, <br /> 8) Letter to the Senior Citizens advising them the Hoard supports <br /> their project of a senior center, contrary to reports that <br /> have been heard. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 11 : 15 p.m, <br /> jt <br />
