Minutes of the Selectmen' s Meeting <br /> Wednesday, November 20, 1974 <br /> Present : Selectmen Peters and O'Connell <br /> Selectman Hicks, on vacation <br /> Town Counsel <br /> 1) The Selectmen will meet on Tuesday, November 26; due to <br /> the oncoming holiday. <br /> 2) Congressman Studds calleds Mashpee has been selected as <br /> a Bicentennial Community. <br /> 3) Clara Keliinui , Chmn. of the Appeals Board and Jack Boyle <br /> member, met with the Selectmen in a "closed session." <br /> 4) Traffic Engineer will met with Selectman Peters on <br /> Wednesday at 9a.m. , November 27, 1974,. (Fraizer Hartley) <br /> 5) Claire Gillis , 're : transferring the Paper NooktD a glass <br /> station, This will require volunteers to transport glass <br /> to Falmouth, where they will crush, weigh and transport <br /> to buyer. <br /> 6) Closed session has been requested by the School Committee <br /> Wednesday, December 4. News media alerted. <br /> 7) Memorandums sent to all departments, committees and commissions <br /> for : Town Reports, due January 13, 1975. <br /> Interdepartmental Meeting, Wednesday, December ll, at Sp.m, <br /> 8) Meeting with Otis Coordinater, Herbert Shanker and secretary <br /> of the Otis Task Force Elizabeth Tyininski concerning proposals <br /> being made at Otis . <br /> a) Railroad; would like to keep service -running to the Cape. <br /> b) Land-Banking <br /> c) Common perimeter <br /> d) Recreational Study <br /> e) Art and Crafts Study <br /> f) Schools; Though everyone is interested; no one has the funds. <br /> g) National Cemetery - this proposal seems to have the <br /> most merit. Two sites are being considered, California and <br /> New England. <br /> The Board did not approve the signing of the lease; therefore <br /> the representatives of Mashpee will omit their signatures, This <br /> will only indicate , Mas�pee does not approve, <br /> 9)George Green, Highway Surveyor, waE, ,.Tice-president <br /> of the Highway -Association in Barnstable . <br /> Veeting adjourned at 11 : 00 p.m. <br />
