Minutes of the Selectmen' s Meeting <br /> Tuesday, November 26, 1974 <br /> Selectmen, Peters and O'Connell present. <br /> Selectman Hicks on vacation. <br /> Town Counsel present. <br /> Business of theievening consisted -- of: . Signing of the <br /> Warrant, and reviewing of articles for special town meeting. <br /> Due to Thanksgiving, the Selectmen met on Tuesday to sign <br /> the warrant; enabling town employees to receive their pay a <br /> day early. <br /> Wednesday, Selectman Peters met with Mr. Ward and Mr. <br /> Frazer Hartley re : Mass . State Highway signs.- In particular, <br /> the two existing signs, one on Route 28 south near Route <br /> 151 exit; the second, on Route 6 east near the Route 136 exit. <br /> Mr. Hartleystated, these recommendations must have been <br /> submitted by a Selectman at one time. Through the Selectmen's <br /> officeirecommendations are sent to R.J. Kelleher, District <br /> Highway Engineer for consideration. These recommendations are <br /> discussed with the neighboring towns, such as Falmouth, before <br /> a decision is made. <br /> Mr. Ward noted here , he ' also believed New Seabury ,to be a <br /> town of its ownjdue to the advertising he hearts on the radio. <br /> Priority of a name, Cotuit, Mashpee, Popponesset, New <br /> Seabury, etc. , is considered on the basis of; ce.n; ral location. <br /> Therefore, a means of directing traffic from a state <br /> highway. <br /> A sketch was left with Mr. Peters to discuss with the <br /> entire Board when they meet next Wednesday. <br /> Ceta Program: Two positions are being considered; one for <br /> the Selectmen' s office and one for the l4ijlway Department. <br /> Applications and job descriptions have been sent to <br /> Hyannis and interviews for the individual positions have <br /> been made -with the Hyannis office. <br /> Jt <br />
