Minutes of the Selectmen's Meeting <br /> Wednesday, December 4, 1974 <br /> All Selectmen, Executive Secretary and Town Counsel present . <br /> 1) Mashpee Dog Officer, Daniel Dunham and Mr. and Mrs. Richard <br /> Romaine met with Selectmen in a closed session. Re: Complaints <br /> 2) Superintendent Anthony D. 'Antuono, Mashpee School Committee, <br /> and Representative Kendall met with -Selectmen in a closed session. <br /> Re: Dare School. <br /> 3) Oscar W. Doane , Jr., ,, of the Cape Cod Mosquito Control Project <br /> met with Selectmen requesting their signatures for legislation <br /> to reduce the budget from $17 ,000 to $10,000. A savingsof $7,000 <br /> for Mashpee . <br /> 4) Representative Kendall explained the Federal Government would be <br /> sending a check to the surrounding towns for use of their land <br /> concerning Otis. Checks were to be cashed immediately upon <br /> receiving them. It is questioned whether Mashpee will receive <br /> any funds , unless compensation is given for "noise" . <br /> The Otis Trust bill was also discussed. Mashpee was excluded <br /> from the recent lease ; because land had been purchased previously. <br /> Representative Kendall will work at the state level to assist <br /> Mashpee and Congressman Gerry E. Studds will aid also to help <br /> the town with the problems of under-funding for lands <br /> taken at Otis. <br /> Selectmen are asked to research into the settlements and payments <br /> made to individuals and to the town. If they were underpaid, <br /> some compensation may be in order. <br /> 5) henry Ehrisman stopped_ in ,to ask about the progress on South <br /> Cape Beach. 'Selectman O'Connell informed Mr. Ehrisman they were <br /> awaiting word from the Department of Natural Resources. <br /> 6) New Release: Scout leader, Arthur Woodcock, John Ferguson and <br /> members of the Park and Recreation Commission, under the direction <br /> of Childs Electric, will decorate' the Mashpee Rotary fox',Christmas. <br /> 7) Letter to Fin. Comm. informing them of the new full time position <br /> of the Building Inspector, commencing Jan. 1, 175. <br /> 8) The Special Town Meeting Warrant is now in the hands of Town Counsel . <br /> 9) Executive Secretary has met with the following Departments : <br /> Police - Russell Peters - Fire Dept. - Highway Dept. - Treasurer - <br /> James Bain - Town Clerk - Accountant - Municipal Bldg. Comm, <br /> Board of Health - <br /> Meeting adjourned at 11 :15p.m. <br /> Jt <br />
