Minutes of the Selectmen' s Meeting Wednesday, December 18, 1974 i All Selectmen and Town Counsel present and the Executive Secretary The first half-hour was reserved inclosed session' to discuss town problems. 2) Clara Keliinui met with the Selectmen .concerning Board of Appeals business . It was also requested to appoint Samuel P. Sirkis as a member of the Board. Request. granted. Tern expires May of 1975. 3) A demonstration of a copy machine was given to the Selectmen for consideration. There will be no' decisions at this time. More information is required from other sources to make a comparisonti and put out for bid. 4) Mr. Mike Ryan approached Selectman Peters re : Painting of. the town hall. At this time , no decison. 5) The CETA program has approved employmetnt of Marjorie Romaine as clerk/typist for-..the Board of Selectmen. December 30, will be •the 'starting-. date..of this postion. 5) Letter to Marion Fowlkes re : The future of town hall will be for the Park and Recreation Commission and Civil Defense. 7) Letter to Russell Peters ' inviting him to attend - the Board ' s meeting with Mary Bodanza and the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Anthony D. 'Antuono January 8 , 1975. 8) Appointment of Peter Sloane as a member of the Personnel Board replacing William Lehmann who has resigned. Term will expire at the next annual town meeting. 9) The Selectmen approved a letter written to William Mead by the Municipal Building Needs Committee re : Consideration of increased architectural services for the municipal comp Lex. Any consideration must meet with town approval. 10)Letter to George Costa , requested he meet with the Board January 15, 1975 to discuss his future as a town employee. cc: Pers. Brd and Chief Bingham. 11)Request approved to the Recreational Director to submit a bid for a asphalt basketball court. Bids will be opened January 15, 1975.
