7% yam# [ { MINUTES - 4 d SELECTMEN' S MEETING July 25 , 1979 ALL SELECTMEN PRESENT. TOWN COUNSEL AVAILABLE BY PHONE . Motion by Selmn. Benway that them will be no soliciting - of any kind in the Town Hall Building. Seconded by Selmn. Garland and declared a unanimous vote by Chairman ' Cannell. Motion by Selmn. Ben ray to turn over the recreational/senior citizens ' mini bus to the new Recreation ]director, Bradford Norman, to supervise. Seconded by Chester Garland and declared vote by Chmn. O' Connell* _ 4 I Rev. Greene of the First Pentecostal Church, Route #130, Mashpee, requested the use of the Attaquin Parking Lot for a "Street Tet" from 2: 00 - 5 : 00 p.m. on July 29 , 19 9. dm . Asst, instructed to call Rev. Greene. for the definition of a "Street Meet" .- Explanation: feet" . TExplanation: An open air religious service. A guest minister will be invited - to speak, Only a portion of the parking lot will be used. No offerings will be requested, ACTION: APPROVED Police Department hent notified. 4 Motion by Selmn. Administrative Assistant instru ted to ascertain the placement of the thermometer the Highway Department uses to excuse their' men when the temperature reaches 92 This ppears to be a State law that when the temperature reaches 92 high ay m n are excused for the remainder of the clay. The Falmouth th Bank and Trust Company donated $1, 000. 00 towards Mashpeels Legal Defense Fund in the case of the Wampanoag Indian. F i Tribal Council, Inc, vs. New SEabury Corporation, et al. 7 Attending this meeting was Bon Blakeman who complained that it is unjust that the New Seabury Corporation can obtain title insurance { while the rest of the Town cannot. The Fede-ral Appeals Court decision which` came dawn. in February, 1979, upholds New Seabury Title Insuror, Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation of Virginia, that the written title insurance guaranteeing against losses due to the land claire suit remains in effect. The New Seabury Corporation had this insurance prior to the suit. The Selectmen agreed with Mr. Blakeman, Chmn, O'Connell stated ,the insurance is available but the Town can' t - get it because of the land claim. 8 The Selectmen agreed to excuse the Town Employees at 4: 00 p. . clue to the heat.
