.� SELECTMEN'S MINUTES <br /> December 5, 1979 <br /> Present: Selectmen Kevin D. O'Connell, Chester A. Garland, and <br /> George A. Benway, Jr. and Town Counsel. <br /> 1. Building Security <br /> Raymond Martini, Town Hall Custodian, met with the Board to <br /> seek guidance concerning the building security of the Library <br /> and the Town Hall. Mr. Martini submitted the proposal of <br /> South Shore Alarm, Inc. to lease equipment on a rental basis, <br /> or, to purchase outright. <br /> ACTION: Call South Shore Alarm and inquire about maintenance <br /> of equipment. Note: equipment is guaranteed for one year. <br /> (This does not include vandalism to the equipment. ) Mainten- <br /> ance cost for the Town Hall, $30. 00 per month; Library, $15. 00 <br /> per month. An article will be placed for monies in the Jan. <br /> 23, 1980 Special Town Meeting Warrant. <br /> 2 . The Selectmen accepted the resignation of Norman Dias and <br /> James LeClair as members of the Conservation Commission. <br /> 3 . First Offense: James E. Ames, Dog/Animal Control Officer. <br /> Disciplinary action: <br /> For conduct unbecoming a Town Official regarding incident oc- <br /> curing on November 14, 1979 , the Board of Selectmen voted to <br /> unanimously place Mr. Ames on a three-day suspension the week <br /> of December 24, 1979 . In the letter to Mr. Ames , notifying <br /> him of this action, he will be advised to wear a uniform at <br /> all times during his normal working hours. <br /> 4. Mr. Ames, Dog/Animal Control Officer, is willing to establish <br /> his office in the Old Town Hall . <br /> Paul Peters will be called to see if this is adequate for in- <br /> surance purposes . Note: This meets insurance purposes . <br /> 5. Dog Officer Vehicle <br /> This vehicle has incurred approximately $1, 000 . 00 in repairs <br /> so far and is now at Falmouth Ford due to an electrical pro- <br /> blem. The Town Mechanic has advised that the vehicle is worth <br /> keeping. An article in the 1/23/80 Special Town Meeting will <br /> be necessary to pay repair costs . <br />
