SELECTMEN' S MINUTES <br /> DECEMBER 12 , 1 <br /> I <br /> Present: Chairman Kevin D, O'Connell, Selectman George A. <br /> Denway ,, Jr, , and Town Counsel, Joseph Reardon. <br /> Selectman Chester A. Garland, o t- f--.town. <br /> 1. REGIONAL TIRE COLLECTION <br /> Charles Buckingham, Mashpee representative to the <br /> Regional Solid waste Advisory Committee net with the <br /> Board for direction in regards to Regional Tire <br /> i <br /> Collection. <br /> a Ir. Buckingham felt regional tike collection <br /> should be operated by the County and e6ncompass <br /> the fifteen Cape towns ; <br /> b The County can seek grants and/or legislation to <br /> initiate this program; <br /> c After initial organization., perhaps the program <br /> can be self-supporting. <br /> ACTION <br /> The Board concurs with the concept and asked Nor. Buckingham <br /> to continue with the regional Knee ti ng and see what develops . <br /> . Christina Moore"s F- named was drawn by Chairman O'Connell <br /> to serge on Traverse Jury. <br /> VARIOL S. SUBJECTS. - - POLICE <br /> a Police Chief O'Connor recommended the Greater Boston <br /> Police Council Bid . (The vehicles will cone from <br /> Framingham Ford who was awarded the State bid) <br /> ACTION: Chairman o'Connell asked the Chief to consider <br /> the larger engine capacity, since there is only a few <br /> hundred dollars difference, and the Chief does have <br /> the money budgeted. The K-9 will be kept for another <br /> year. A comparison will beade before the bid is awarded. <br /> b R_ ,dar -uipi ent_.-_ The,. axd_-is `F apposed,,-4to_..Iradar Taithln <br /> the Town. The Ohief explained that the Town can be <br /> reimbursed via Highway Safety grant. In the Chief' s <br /> EY' 1 Budget radar equipment for the cruisers and <br /> the road will, be included. hai rman O' Connell said <br /> that he still will oppose the radar concept at Town <br /> meeting. <br />
