i <br /> A <br /> 5 <br /> Selectmen' s Minutes <br /> December 19 , 1979 <br /> Selectmen Sevin D. O'Connell, Chester A. Garland and George <br /> A. Benway,, Jr, , present, <br /> i. Mr. Line Lally of Lujean' s Printing company met with <br /> the Board to sign the agreement to print the 1978 Town <br /> Report, Bid quote for 1,500 books with a black/white <br /> cover (100 pages) $4 ,085 . 41. Additional paces will <br /> cost $40, 85 each. Last day to submit reports is March <br /> 1 , 1980. <br /> 2 . Mr, Jack Clarke, Historic Perservation Planner, from <br /> the cape cod Planning and Economic Development Commiss- <br /> ion met with the Board in regards to the feasibili-ty of <br /> restoring the old fire station. (Fire bias were opened <br /> this date to raze the building) . This was brought to <br /> Mr. Clarke' s attention by the Mass . Historical <br /> Commission who has received a letter from John Peters , <br /> Jr. of the wampanoac Tribal Council, requesting their <br /> assistance to save this building. (The Tribal council, <br /> in a grant, has indicated they would life to use this <br /> building as a community center) . Mr. Clarke is doing <br /> historic surveys for the fifteen Cape town. He felt <br /> that the Town 'Historic Commission should be reactiviated. <br /> He asked the Board to delay the razing of this building <br /> until a survey can be rade by ars architect, Preservation <br /> funds are available 5 matching funds for this <br /> purpose.: <br /> The Board agreed with the suggestion to perserve this <br /> historic building, but stated it may be twenty years <br /> Y too late. The building has been vandalized, set on fire, <br /> the wood has dr•yrotted and is termited ridden. <br /> Action: Unanimous Board vote to take all bids under <br /> advi s.ement. <br /> '. Ralf-Tide Marina permit signed to operate his business <br /> on Sundays for the year 1980 , Fee - $25 , 00 , <br /> T a unanimous Board vote, the Town Employees will be <br /> excused from work the day before Christmas and New Years <br /> t 1,.1.00 P.M. <br />
