Page Board of Selectmen Minutes January 10, 1994 JR SR HIGH SCHOOL: Designer Selection Process: Peter I ini io and several members of the Jr Sr High School Building Committee were present to discuss the Designer Selection Process with the Board. To facilitate communication between the Jr Sr High School Building Cornrnittee and Board of Selectmen, lir. Dinizio requested the Board appoint a liaison to be a „point of contact" for the Board of Selectmen. *It is the consensus of the Board to authorize Selectman Vaccaro as Chairman of the Board of Selectmen to serve as liaison to the Jr Sr High School Building Committee. It was noted that the committee will continue to meet with the Board of Selectmen on a regular basis. Mr. Dinizio asked the Board for a "target date" to open the new high school facility. Selectman Vaccaro read aloud a draft letter-dated January 10, 1994 to Carole Dunivan, Chairman of the School Committee. enclosed Although, the Board of Selectmen are committed to keeping the high school project on a "fast track" schedule, it is apparent that it will be very difficult to have the entire school completed and ready for occupancy by September of 1996 indicated Selectman Vaccaro. As a result, the Selectmen have asked the School Committee to prepare contingency plans to accommodate that ye&s ninth grade class as related from the memo of January 10, 1994. Selectman hills noted that the architectural design of the high school facility will aid to determine the target date of occupancy. Motion made by Selectman Mills to approve for submission, the draft memo of January 10, 1994 to the School Committee requesting contingency plans be made to accommodate that year's ninth grade class.
