i Page 3 Board of Selectmen Minutes February 17, 1994 BUDGET WORKSHOP: Personnel Department: A floating clerk has been recommended to assist with departmental overloads; 18 hours - $7,x.19.44. Human Services Director- $36,262.40. For the record, Selectman Caffyn indicated that she is opposed to the position of Human Services Director. Board Secretary Account: Further review requested as it pertains to the four hour minimum per meeting. Data Processing: Data Processing funds include; part-time Computer Consultant, supplies, forms, tapes, ribbons and maintenance contract agreement. Town Clerk: Jane Labute,Town Clerk read aloud a statement pertaining to her departmental status and related needs. As Town Meeting did not fund a full time Administrative Clerk in her department, the Town Clerks Office has been reduced to an 18 hour per week employee. As a result of the above, Ms. Labute indicated that she will no longer handle beach sticker sales, shellfish licenses and transfer station sticker sales as of,duly 1, 1994. Selectman Vaccaro has offered to address this concern with Ms. Labute. This item will be reviewed further at the next budget workshop, Conservation: It was noted that budget item#0173 has been amended to read: $4,000. Item#0606 has been amended to react; $23,300. Selectman Costa recommended to consider the appointment of a part-time Conservation Assistant. It was noted that conservation lana maintenance and bog maintenance funds derive from conservation receipts and not the general budget. The Board will meet with the Conservation Agent nest week to discuss budget initiatives and priorities. Planning Department: It was noted that the capital budget was reduced. Computer items will be addressed collectively in the overall computer upgrade.
