Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 2 , 1994 <br /> Street Light Committee: <br /> Coreg Taylor, Director of Publicrvorls was present to request the Boards <br /> approval of 16 street lights for public safety. The lights as requested can <br /> be funded within the current suet light budget informed Mr.Taylor. <br /> The Street Light Committee comprised of Mr.Taylor, Curtis Frye and <br /> Robert Jutstrom voted unanimously to recommend the Board approve the <br /> 16 street lights as proposed. <br /> Included for the Board's review was a detailed list of street lights in <br /> Mashpee as provided by Commonwealth Electric. Mr.Taylor indicated <br /> that it costs approximately$100 per year for each street light. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to authorize the Executive <br /> Secretary to contract with Commonwealth Electric for the 16 <br /> street lights as recommended. Motion seconded by Selectman <br /> Mills, VOTE: Unanimous. -0, Selectman Jacobson absent. <br /> New England 'Telephone Petitions 94-2 and 9 -500 for <br /> Approval: <br /> Mr. 'Taylor,Hearing Officer for New England Telephone Petitions 94-2 and. <br /> 94-500 indicated that a Public Hearing was conducted on February 11, <br /> 1994. No individuals expressed opposition to the proposal indicated <br /> Mr. Taylor. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Costa to approve New England <br /> Telephone Petitions 94-2 and 4-500 as proposed. Motion <br /> seconded by Selectman Caffyn. VOTE: Unanimous. - <br /> Selectman Jacobson absent. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Communication from Continental Cablevision re: Assessment <br /> of 5 Sales 'Tax: <br /> Correspondence was received from Continental Cablevision dated <br /> February 10, 1994 relative to the assessment of a ° sales tax on the <br /> monthly charge for a converter box and remote control. <br /> The assessment charge wUl begin next month to conform to the provisions <br /> of the MGL, Chapter 64H Section 1 and 2 of the 1992 Cable Act. <br /> i <br />
